Smart Meter from British Gas

Are you sure it is your meter? Are you in a house or flats? Have you checked meter serial numbers, done a sanity test?1

My British Gas smart meter hasn’t been working for about a year now.
They first told me it would take 1 month to fix. Then 2 months. Now I’ve just given up.
Bit annoying to have to submit reading all the time.1 -

FineJane said:This is why I am confused as to how much I owe them or, they owe meI'm confused too now!So you started the bill with a credit, they refunded you some amounts, charged you for next to no usage and standing charges, took payments and ended up with a new (smaller) credit balance?!What electricity meter have you got, and how are you reading it? Maybe a photo of it showing the current reading would help.I would say blot out the meter serial number, as it can be used to identify you, but it's in your screenshot too, so ideally should be removed there also.

You need to check the meter number, is the one you think is yours the same number as on your bill, and most importantly, is that the one that actually connects to your property?1

Some of the modern meters can be difficult to read - watch out for the decimal point and ignore all the numbers after the decimal pointNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill2

The OP has obviously edited this thread as it now makes little sense !!!2

This is the most confusing thread that we have had in a long time. Either the meter is sending readings or it isn’t. If it is, then the supplier will bill using smart readings. If there has been a loss of connectivity then the supplier will bill using readings provided by the consumer.
The OP needs to check that the meter serial number on the meter she is reading matches the meter serial number on the bill. If they are different, then the supplier is billing using a different meter that may or may not be linked to the property. A simple check is to turn the immersion heater on and check that there is a rapidly flashing LED light on the meter.
Transposed meters are industry-wide problem. The problem is usually associated with flats and new builds and can take months to resolve. Once the OP carries out a meter serial number check we can then offer advice on what to do next.
