I’m tempted by this I had refused to fix for the first time in years to the high exit fees but as they have removed them I see this as a no lose option now shout out if I’m wrong before I change to this tariff. ;)
  • I would wait. The market seems to be moving in response to lower wholesale prices. I am NOT an EDF customer but I received this in an email 10 minutes ago:

‘We're delighted to offer an exclusive discount on our fixed tariff - EDF Essentials, for people in your area3. Saving you £100 per year compared to the price cap.

Fixing your prices means, you don't have to worry if prices change as a fixed tariff gives price certainty and offers peace of mind.

Plus, our fixed tariffs are backed by zero carbon electricity*, so you'll be helping Britain achieve Net Zero.

This is a limited time offer and can be redeemed until 18 August 2023.’

I have decided to wait. My current 2 year fix ends 3rd Sep. By that time the Oct price cap will be out and Eon Next have said they give 30 days notice of prices, meaning 1st Sep. So I am going to hang fire. Worst case I go on variable for a month and see what deals are then.
