Your complaint doesn't mention that VCS said the byelaws were obsolete etcetera, nor the airport's response when challenged by my MP. You do need to include that this is not a one off event.

You could complain direct to the DLUHC since your MP has been suspended.

Yes, I think you need to add Fruitcake's info.

  • Hi @Fruitcake and @Coupon-mad . I thought I included all the points raised in your comments, my apologies. I have now included reference to VCS claiming that the airport vyelaws being obsolete, which is proved wrong by a challenge from MP. Would it be OK to word it this way?

"In response to my earlier complaint, VCS said that the airport operator considers airport byelaws to be obsolete, but the airport operator (Bristol Airport Ltd) said in the official response to an MP that this is not true. This is not the first time that VCS deliberately lied about the airport laws being obsolete, and I have evidence to demonstrate that".

  • I have sent complaint to Britstol Airport Ltd on their webpage. This is what I can fit into 1,000 characters:

"Vehicle Control Services pursues me for stopping in a no-stopping zone in Bristol Airport on 30/07/2023 17:05, PCN VCS20712139. I request you instruct your agent VCS to cancel PCN, as:

I was NOT the driver but registered keeper for that vehicle, so I cannot be held liable, as per Protection of Freedoms Act2012(Sch 4), confirmed in Appeal Court judgment VCSvEdward.

The car had to stop in emergency–broken down bus blocked the road. The Airport byelaws exempt vehicles that stop in emergency. VCS earlier claimed the airport operator (BA ltd) considers airport byelaws obsolete, but BA Ltd responded to MP that this is not true. Please investigate why VCS ignore byelaws and their exemptions.

After traffic cleared, car went to MultiStorey park prepaid at £186.99. There was NO reason to stop close to prepaid parking but for the road blocked. VCS photos show queues of traffic in both directions. Please investigate this breakdown that stopped traffic.

If VCS takes me to court, I’ll involve BA Ltd."

  • @UncleThomasCobley @Umkomaas @Half_way @Coupon-mad @Fruitcake I have also sent an email with the full text of the complaint (including comments from @Fruitcake on VCS lying about the byelaws) to Dave Lees, CEO of Bristol Airport Ltd.

  • @UncleThomasCobley I have tried to contact the Constituency Office for my MP, but there was no reply on the phone. I wrote them an email, but it is simply the email of the suspended MP. @Fruitcake, How would I contact the DLUHC directly? What would be my next steps now?

How would I contact the DLUHC directly?
Have you tried this in Google 'DLUHC email'?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

  • Thank you @Umkomaas . I did google DLUHC email, and found it earlier: dluhc.digital-services@levellingup.gov.uk. Perhaps I did not word my query correctly - rather than asking "How would I contact DLUHC", I should ask "How would I frame my complaint about VEC in contacting DLUHC, as they do not tend to deal with individual issues". I understand that they (DLUHC) collect evidence for the ongoing inquiry into Private Parking Charges, but I did not think they would eb able to respond to an individual like me about my specific case.
    Apologies for confusion
  • Hi all
I had a response from the office of my MP, who aked me for full details of my case then then written to VCS and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to raise my concerns.
Shall I now also write to VCS and mention that I complained to my MP, Bristol Airport and DLUHC? Shall I use the same template used for the complaint to Bristol Airport Ltd?
