Big Tesco spend this week again! Another £87.00 spent and we arnt even half way through August! Also £20 spent in Aldi yesterday on a grab and go picnic, milk, bread and juice. Hoping to shop from store cupboard and freezer next week when it is just the two of us. Then Grandsons to stay the week after. This month is fun but exhausting so planning of meals has gone out of the window slightly. The freezer is so choc full of meals made up in advance for GC and their parents and icecream to save spending double on it when we are out and about that there is no room for bargain buys. Need time to think! 🤣.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Morning all! The Tesco order just arrived and it cost £105.79 including delivery fee. Even Mr. Jings remarked there wasn't any meat in the order either. We're looking okay budget wise because I deliberately added in a £50 buffer this month for stocking up which happened in this particular order. I'll try to keep any spends to £15 until our week restarts next Tuesday. We'll likely only need milk in the next few days.
£185.56 / £400.00 spent. £214.44 remaining
@goldfinches I'm making that cake tomorrow evening so I'll let you know how it tastes on Saturday.
@elsiepac if you're feeling in a rut meal plan wise, join us on the Reverse Meal Planning and the Meal Planning threads for ideas. We don't bite... only our food. 😂6 -
Scored at the community shop - as I arrived - there was a delivery of plums and greengages. You can have a bag of fruit/veg for £1.
I got 3 pointed peppers, 3 courgettes, some small tomatoes, over a kilo of greengages and +700g of Victoria plums.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I've had a NSD
Today I baked gf scones and fairy cakes with items I already had in the cupboard. Going to freeze the cakes and take them out when needed.
So far this month I've spent £55.04 on groceries.

With 2 weeks and 3 days to go until the budget resets again on the 28th of the month, I'm currently at £53.86/£90.
So that leaves me with £36.14.....so long as i'm careful - shop from stores/freezer as much as possible and when in store shop from a list, it will probably be tough, but should be possible

I'm feeling pleased with having a NSD on Wednesday despite it being so hot here that I was very tempted to buy dinner on the way home that afternoon. Then yesterday I spent £5.93 at M*rks on YS strawberries, 2 rolls, garlic, lemons and nectarines which makes my new total £48.18/£124 and my average daily spend £4.81 which is quite respectable.7

Eeek! I've just added - rather a lot - for the last two weeks' grocery shopping, and have to confess that it should probably be about £100 more, if I'm being completely honest, but I decided that some of it should come out of the Entertainments fund, as the extra expense was down to guests & festivities related to DGS's & OH's birthdays. (July & August the budgets always take a hammering; there are 3 family birthdays in July and 2 in August, and my lot love nothing more than an excuse to get together and feast!) So I have a smidgeon over £200 left to feed 6 adults for the next two weeks. Which should be entirely doable; there's stuff in the freezer that needs using up to make room for beans, beans and more beans!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7
