DH went shopping in Sainsburys for bread and milk today. He added juice, ice lollies, and butter which means around £18.00. He didnt keep the receipt. 🤦♀️I have added this to my totals. I need to get some cooking marg and flour tomorrow so wont declare yet.
Had one piece of pizza in freezer. It had popped out of its wrapper and got a bit of freezer burn so I drizzled oil over it and added some fresh cheese. DH knew nothing about it and said it was lovely! 😊I had cheese on toast with grilled tomatoe that was past its best. So a great dinner for next to nothing. We had the rest of the apple pie from last night for pud.

@Soontobeoap - you did make me laugh and reminded me why I'm single!
Despite being the only person in this household I have still managed to overspend this month and have, unfortunately, run out of washing soda, disinfectant and washing powder at the wrong end of the month. I've decided to tell myself I've done my best and try harder next month.
Anyway, here are my recent spends.
On Friday I spent £6.20 at M*rks on crackers, f/f greek style yoghurt, 2x radishes and cherry toms and the Treat fund spent £1.26 on YS creme fraiche.
On Saturday I spotted a new to me world supermarket and spent a very enjoyable hour looking at everything on their shelves and trying very hard not to spend an absolute fortune. In the end the Treat fund spent £10.28 on coconut milk powder, soya mince, onion flakes and ajwain seeds.
On Sunday I spent £14.43 at M*rks on 2x filo pastry, frozen petits pois, cauliflower, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, 3x leeks, an onion, mint and whole milk.
Then today (or rather yesterday IYSWIM) I spent £4.20 at M*rks on 4x semi-skimmed milk and f/f greek style yoghurt.
That makes my new total £131.18/£124 and my average daily spend £4.52.

Finishing the month on £91.28/ £90 .....so close, and having looked at my receipts definitely could have come in under budget.5

Final shop for August done this morning. Some of it was Bulk Fund stuff for next month so I actually moved £50 of the excess GC budget over to cover it. My final spend for the GC was £132.62. The rest of the GC money will be moved to other pots ready for next month on Friday (just in case I need to get anything in the next day or two but hopefully not!).5

£2.93 spent today on plain flour, sweet and sour sauce and baking margarine. I am declaring at £399.46 / £450.A much better month than I had hoped. ☺️
Stewed up a load of cherry toms from garden today. ( They are coming thick and fast) made up 3 red lasagna/pasta sauces by puting 1/3 of bought aldi pasta sauce into tupperware and then adding the same again of stewed toms from garden. Each portion cost me 33p +electric of course. Also stewed up some more apples that I was given ready to make a large blackberry and apple pie to put in freezer for when we go up to Sons for an early Christmas in November! 🤷♀️Dont ask! Long story! Really cheap offering that looks good I thought. Anyway Darling H came home and said that it isnt very christmassy to have apple pie at Christmas. 🤔 Not very christmassy to have it November either I thought but held my tongue! Upshot is we will be eating it this week and I am hoping to be given more apples for a cheap homemade dessert to gift as well. Good luck with September everyone.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Had a good but spendy bank holiday weekend and since that put me over budget anyway I did a biggish grocery shop today instead of waiting until Friday (which would be next month's budget but less convenient as I would have to do it after work, when the shops are busier). Am declaring at £51.57 over.

Under budget for August- by 92p 🙂
As mentioned before, had lost track between shopping budget and stores budget so just rolled them both together giving us £295 for the month. The shelves are looking quite healthy so thinking I did buy sufficient stores items. One week of August was holiday but we were self catering so just used general food budget that week but we did have lots of treats and if you have ever shopped in a Booths you will know it is expensive!
See you al over in September.
