If the computer your installing windows 11 Pro on has ever had Windows on it will auto activate anyway and it doesn't really matter if its activated or not it will still work

Not sure about office 2021 however libreoffie is free and is incredibly similar to  office

Windows 10/11 can be downloaded freely from Microsoft onto a bootable USB stock
But not "Pro,"... . If the device was originally "home"
I have updated from 10 home to 11 pro with no issues whatsoever

OK - Is there any real advantage in upgrading to pro ?
ie) What's the difference in Win 11 ?
Apart from bitlocker and Remote desktop - which I am unlikely to use

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Sorry, but the reply above is simply conjecture. The installation process has nothing to do with the product key. In fact you can install Windows 10/11 without a product key at all....and then add it later. Windows 10/11 will work without product keys.
My reply didn't mention either the installation process or the product key. I assume you meant to reply to somebody else.
If you've not yet managed to work out how to use an internet discussion forum then I'm not sure your techy credentials are as convincing as you think they are ;)

    Believe that's pretty much it!

Looks like you mentioned the installation process to me... You also asserted that's it's either an Enterprise or Developer's licence. Pure conjecture.
Thanks but I know how to utilise an Internet discussion forum and I also remember what I write. You should try it before embarrassing yourself.

They will be using an enterprise site license or a developer's license that allows creation of Windows installations for testing purposes with no production work.
Certainly the installation process will involve you ticking a box to confirm that a set of statements given is true, when they won't be.
There is no guarantee that they will not stop working.

    Correct on both counts

Your reply doesn't make any sense at all. There was only one 'count'; whether you can do an in-place upgrade to Windows 11 Pro using the existing Windows 10 Home licence.
That would only work if your device had Windows 10 Pro installed at some point.

No - I have 10 Pro (upgraded from 10 home) on my old laptop and was wondering whether I could somehow use this installation key to upgrade  from 11 home  to 11 pro on the new device ?
Presumably - I can't just use it to upgrade from 11 home to 11 pro - without having to go through 10 ?

Do you have an installation key? Why not try it? It won't bite you.
