Yeah think it’s dual fuel only unfortunately

Think Dolor was showing the rates for his area they will differ depending on where you live for example the rates I was quoted we’re

    Electricity Unit Rate
    29.12p
    Electricity Standing Charge
    50.29p

    Gas Unit Rate
    6.77p
    Gas Standing Charge
    29.11p

It was supplier to supplier comparison based on the same postcode.
Screenshot that I posted is your region, electricity SC matches your post, unit rates do not match for either fuel, maybe you were looking at flexible rates on long list and mistakingly quoted unit rates from a different region.
Different tariff: as an existing customer, I was looking at Loyal not Flexible. If I was not an Octopus customer then I could of course get £50 off Flexible by switching. That said, it is an academic discussion: my days of switching to new suppliers ended some years ago. There is more money to saved by going for one of Octopus’ smart tariffs. There is nothing new or market disrupting in Tulo’s offer. FWiW, I believe that new entrants will have to embrace fully from the off time-of-use tariffs if they are to break into the market. Just look at how many people have switched to Octopus Tracker and Agile. Tomorrow’s Agile prices:

Swings and roundabouts though can also go very expensive - i'm not the sort of whose interested in running round my house turning everything off at a certain time of changing how I live to get cheaper energy so something like Tulo is more attractive to me - just depends what type of person you are and how you live etc

In truth, there isn’t much turning on and off - particularly, on a ‘true’ Tracker tariff. My daughter has been on Octopus Agile for 9 months and she has achieved an average kWh price of less than 20p. As more solar and wind farms come online, we will see more plunge price events. The rollout of time-of-use tariffs is the reason why a number of well-established suppliers are buying/leasing The Kraken Technologies platform. Time-of-use tariffs are also the direction of travel for BEIS and Ofgem. That said, I hope that Tulo works out for you.

I'm not in a position to be doing that either, so I'm quite happy with our ~11p/kWh electricity today and ~8p tomorrow.

Same here. Either way, Tracker, Agile or other smart tariffs mean that a startup supplier probably needs to offer something more compelling than an old school tariff with just a fraction of a penny shaved off the unit rate.

Having been SOLR'd 3 times by the lure of what were cheaper tariffs at the time - namely Breeze, Yorkshire and Avro and the accompanying stress associated with multiple SOLRs - I'm not at inclined to ever take a punt on really small suppliers with a very limited customer base/suppliers in their infancy that have no track record. :(
Yes, I think that customer reluctance to switch is understandable given the circumstances. It is not the fact that a supplier fails, it is the time and stress associated with the follow on administration that can take its toil; particularly, when consumer credit balances go missing.

Not to mention the false debt recovery actions that seem to have been triggered for quite a few posters here on the forum.

SoLR costs were born by everyone - not just those who benefitted from cheap dealscat many of the failed suppliers.  I wish I believed Ofgem were on the ball to prevent repeats - but from past evidence.....

I've been SOLRed twice, Iresa and then Neo. Iresa had a small credit balance which I got back. At the time I thought It would have been perfectly fair if I'd lost that, as I would have done with pretty much any other sort of business going broke. As it was it sent out the message that there's no downsides of risk switching to the cheapest no matter how shady.

Agree with much of the above sentiments. I needed to involve the Energy Ombudsman after the shenanigans of one SoLR. That supplier too went bust within a year of taking over customers of another failed supplier. Fortunately I was long gone by that point. It's not just the hassle caused to those who chose these suppliers, we've all been paying through our standing charges for this mess for quite some time. I'm not keen at all on seeing further minnow suppliers treading in the same footsteps.
