⚠️The Tulo site gives fake quotations for Economy 7. It doesn't ask for Day and Night kWh usage only the total, so there's no way it can be accurate.Dozy Ofgem has condoned this scam for years, it's known about it but still fails to take any action.0

How much capital do these new one man in their bedroom suppliers have to put up now?Does the SOLR protection still apply.0

Q1: No idea. Edit: The Application Form has the following financial requirement: Provide details of your financial projections, funding arrangements and risk management strategy for your first two years’ operation after commencing supply of electricity to premises, and proof of funding for at least your first year’s operation after commencing supply of electricity to premises. (Please refer to the application guidance published on the Ofgem website).wakeupalarm said:How much capital do these new one man in their bedroom suppliers have to put up now?Does the SOLR protection still apply.
Q2: Yes (I think that you mean is your credit balance protected by Ofgem: the answer is also yes.)0 -
Yeah as you quote it’s like an £80 saving for a average user but I’m quite a large user so savings for me are over £200 annually[Deleted User] said:Quote page has changed since I posted, now requires postcode instead of selecting region and now quotes dual fuelI have just emptied the browser cache and the page has indeed been updated. I see that Tracker now comes with the caveat that prices can change: 'Rates are Variable and may change with 10 Days Notice'
FWiW, I am not seeing significant savings compared to my supplier's non smart tariffs"
Electricity:
30.27p/kWh and 61.82p/day Standing charge (Tulo)
31.78p/kWh and 60.18p/day Standing Charge (Octopus)
Gas:
7.18p/kWh and 29.11p/day Standing Charge (Tulo)
7.71p/kWh and 27.47p/day Standing Charge (Octopus)
I hope that the OP has not fallen into the lower monthly payments trap?
Think the company has been in existence for over 5 years so been through energy crisis etc. just one of the smaller suppliers0 -
Unit rates do not match Octopus display for either fuel which has made Tulo saving more than it really is.[Deleted User] said:Quote page has changed since I posted, now requires postcode instead of selecting region and now quotes dual fuelI have just emptied the browser cache and the page has indeed been updated. Dolor said:I see that Tracker now comes with the caveat that prices can change: 'Rates are Variable and may change with 10 Days Notice'Do we have any more info on exactly how rates will vary? What index they track?I'll note that this isn't a SVT and so there's no obligation on it to remain below the Ofgem cap.
Being in existence for five years isn't a particularly useful benchmark.MattyB1980 said:Think the company has been in existence for over 5 years so been through energy crisis etc. just one of the smaller suppliersI suspect it had essentially (and possibly literally) zero customers until now, which is how it survived the crisis.N. They apparently won't quote for an address with no gas supply. Not sure where you looking on there site but I’ve just switched Dual Fuel. They only offer Dual Fuel I believe when you go through and get a quote.0 -

29.12pElectricity Standing Charge
50.29pGas Unit Rate
6.77pGas Standing Charge
29.11p0 -

Screenshot that I posted is your region, electricity SC matches your post, unit rates do not match for either fuel, maybe you were looking at flexible rates on long list and mistakingly quoted unit rates from a different region.Dolor said:
