It's a real Court Claim. Not a Summons.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Do I ignore it?  They want a lot of personal information. Can you advise?

Just read the second post of the Newbies/FAQ thread which tells you exactly what you need to do. Ignore all the other forms that came with the claim. DO NOT fill those in.

Why on earth would you want to "ignore" a court claim?
  • Will do. Thank you.  I have never heard of a court claim, I thought it was some mind of bluff from DCB.
could you explain what a court claim is?

Google "small claims court".(slightly outdated term) Go to Gov.uk which explains all.

With a Claim Issue Date of 14th August, you have until Monday 4th September to file an Acknowledgment of Service.  Do not file an Acknowledgment of Service before 19th August, but otherwise there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 18th September 2023 to file your Defence.
That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.
  • Hi can anyone help?  I typed my defence on money claim. I submitted it but when looking at the pdf to check it went through it only submitted a part of what I had written.
Is there a way I can retract my defence and put in what was missed out.  I have tried but it won’t let me access my defence to change it in any way, just to view.  Thanks in advance

    That is entirely your fault.

In the post on your thread immediately before yours I wrote...

    Clearly you ignored that.

To get permission to change your Defence will cost you at least £100 and permission may not be granted.

You are stuck with the Defence you have filed.
  • I know you said do not use MCOL what choice did I have.  I completed the form online. I said  I was challenging the claim but never received an acknowledgment of the completed form You mentioned email. I had no response from the submitted form on email. You were not exactly clear in how it worked.  I am not used to court forms.
