Also when the deal requires "moving an account to them" does that mean the older account is autoclosed?

When you switch your account using the current account switch service (as required by TSB's T&Cs), the old account will close.0 -
Had a tsb account from 2015/6 times and last October when their first offer came out I opened a new account and the profiles are still split. Anyone had a tsb offer twice? Im wondering if it will create a third profile if I try….0

Can you open the TSB account first then switch to it later or do you have to switch as part of the process of opening the TSB account?

Switch and get up to £200*
That's not peanuts! Open one of our Spend & Save current accounts between 10 July 2023 and before the offer is withdrawn, switch in your existing account by 31 August 2023 and we'll give you £125. Stay until 28 February 2024 for a further £75.
So yes, you can open the account and need to initiate the switch by 31 August. Gives you plenty of time to set up or move any DD in case the account you switch doesn't have any set up.

Assuming you apply for the switch later after having already opened the tsb account, anyone know if you can still do the switch online or is a telephone call or even a branch visit needed?0

Pretty sure there was a Switch Now page on their website.
Following the promotion links.1 -

It doesn't say to initiate a switch by 31 August. Doesn't "switch in your existing account by 31 August 2023" mean that the switch needs to be completed by 31 August?T's & C's state "By 31 August 2023 you must do all of the following:
2. complete a full switch to your new TSB Spend & Save or Spend & Save Plus account using the Current Account Switch Service".

My interpretation would be that a switch needs to be set in motion by 31st not completed. I might be wrong so either make sure it is done and dusted before or call the hotline and clarify should a few days make a difference to your case. A switch takes 7 days so would apply by 24th August latest. Plenty of time in my opinion.0
