Purple Bricks offer response?

I made an offer on a property, its been listed for 2 weeks.  I offered full asking price and Im a cash buyer.  Its been a full working day, no response, agent isnt answering phone or returning calls.
I am assuming the offer hasnt excited them?  I offered full asking price for cash and I expected them to bite my hand off?
Is that unrealistic?
TIA

Probably unrealistic.  Purple Bricks aren't renowned for their efficiency.

They may not have been able to contact their clients yet.

They perhaps are suggesting their clients should push for a higher offer - two weeks is hardly a long time.

Their clients may not be impressed by a cash offer.

    Umpteen reasons........

thanks, I just thought/hoped an offer for the full asking price would be what they are looking for.

Estate agents, doncha luvvem; virtual or human?

we offered on a flat one Saturday , upped after refusal that Monday… then heard nothing.

Friday, I rang em, as our second choice was going to Best and Final offers on the Saturday;  “I assume refusal but a phone call would have been (expletive deleted) courteous?”

Their reply “oh, didn’t we say…? Your offer was accepted!”

    Grrr

Or they may have thought that receiving an offer of the full asking price so soon  meant that they had underpriced the property.

Yeah, I bet you are right, I did consider that.  Maybe it wasnt a good idea.  But you never know whats the best approach.

UPDATE.  This situation got even weirder.  Now the property is sold/under offer.  My viewing has been cancelled.  But my offer wasnt accepted and I wasnt made an offer either.  Why would they just sell to someone else without giving me an opportunity to offer more?  This seems weird to me.

Discrimination?  This could also be a "favoured" local investor.

Purple bricks currently in a bit of a mess - think they were sold recently for £1 (yes, one pound...)

I guess.  Even if they want to sell to someone favoured, you would think they would still allow me to offer more?

Not necessarily. They could have been given a "we'll pay £x if you take the property off the market immediately" offer, and perhaps it was too good to turn down.

A family member did that a few years ago, and the agent took the offer to other interested parties, but no-one wanted to better the offer. My family member found out (quite easily since it took days for the agent to try get a better offer), removed their initial offer and replaced it with a lower one, since the terms of the original offer had not been met.
