Glad you got the money back but that may not be the end of it. Where did you get 6 years from please?

I didn't have to. I claimed thru charge back on my credit card but provividing them with email dialogue and original receipt. I got £233 back

The reason I got £233 back was explained that I got 2 years of usage out of them before they went faulty.....and statutory rights cover you for 6 years under the consumer credit act section 75
As above, a chargeback claim accepted by your card provider will typically result in a refund being made provisionally, which can then be reversed of the merchant challenges it, as many do.

And six years may be the statutory limitation for making claims but it doesn't guarantee that any individual item has a lifespan of six years, and this is unrelated to the Consumer Credit Act, although this does grant you the right to claim against your credit card provider under section 75, which is separate from chargeback.

I haven't heard that consumer myth in respect of s75 CCA before.  Thats a new one.

@SteveAW71 -  I don't think either the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Credit Act 1974 say anything about statutory rights being for 6 years.

But congratulations on having a successful s75 claim.  Who was your card provider?  They've handled that well.

There is no chargeback in this situation.
It will have been S75 & you got them on a good day, £233 was not worth a argument or complaint.
