For some reason, it wouldn't accept the e signature. So I did it using 'draw'. Looks part signature / part squiggle.

No. You cannot send your defence in the body of an email or as a Word doc. You must do it again, I'd say. As a PDF.

Just do it in Word (with the claim number and parties' names and the word 'defence' as headings at the top) then after signing & dating it under a Statement of Truth, save it as a PDF.. attach that to an email and double check you get an auto-acknowledgement.
