  • These types of thread are in my opinion a complete waste of bandwidth. It just makes those who use very little electricity feel good, and those with a large family who use lots of electricity feel bad. It would be more meaningful if people compared such things as the average daily baseload as this is what accrues much of the annual cost. For example, a 250W baseload = 3kWh a day of electricity usage. Get the baseload down to an average of 150W, then the saving is 100W x 24 x 365 or 876kWh in a year.

It’s all about - as you state - individual households. Our average fiver a day I consider to be about right in our all electric household. There’s two of us. Frankly, what’s a fiver? Loose change these days. That amount also includes the standing charge. For an energy source delivered,it ain’t bad! The problem here with these threads,is that some contributors would still consider zero cost to be too much! 🤣

  • I spend £0 on electricity per day as I receive more money in solar generation and export payments than I do in paying standing charges and import costs.
