BT LIne Rental Saver - no longer available after end July?

How can the length of time on LRS be relevant, any completed LRS years were fully satisfied legally , you paid the amount upfront and got the benefit applied over that 12 month period , those deals are done and dusted.
Surely it can only be the current LRS that customers are being compensated for , due to this current LRS ‘deal’ being removed before it’s 12 month benefit period had elapsed.
If BT have said everyone on a current LRS scheme , even those that are in the last month of it will get at least £10 credit that’s fair enough ( probably more generous that legally necessary ) but if someone had just started a 12 month LRS , if that deal were not curtailed, the maximum benefit is £20 , so why compensate more than this maximum benefit amount , it seems to make no sense , however any balance of the £220 paid upfront also needs to be returned, if someone were 6 month in , you would expect £110 ( 50% of the amount paid upfront ) to also be refunded, someone in the last month presumably would get less than 10% return , around £200

I think they are giving it as a gesture of goodwill for those customers (like me) that have paid LRS for many years.
I’m sort of happy about it - one of the biggest annoyances was always the timing difference between my broadband and line rental contracts. I’ve always managed to negotiate a substantial decrease at renewal so still paying pretty much the same. The move just makes considering moving away from BT simpler next Jan/Feb0

My 'compensation' has worked out at £39.36. I have no idea how they've worked it out but happy to now be in credit until September.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

Received just under £50 - when my current LRS runs out in Jan 24, it'll have been exactly 10 years since I first took it out.

I have received £59.04 Line Rental Saver Credit on my July 2023 BT bill. It would be nice to know exactly how they calculated that.1

Has anyone cancelled and resigned for a year’s rental saver as Martin suggested in his article? I rang BT this morning and they said it was not possible.0

BT by phone were adamant a few months ago that line rental saver could not be cancelled other than when cancelling Broadband.Busylizzie said:Has anyone cancelled and resigned for a year’s rental saver as Martin suggested in his article? I rang BT this morning and they said it was not possible.
