Anyway, I was expecting quite a decent credit if just one year of LRS meant £10.
I received my bill today and thought at first they had given me an £11-ish credit, which I was quite disappointed with after so many years. Then I realised the credit actually covers this month’s bill as well - ie I don’t have to pay anything this month and am still £11 in credit for next month. So my total credit for losing LRS is just over £54.Has anyone else had their bill yet?1 -
Do people still use landlines? I've been using Virgin for the last 8 years and never paid for a landline as never had a need for it.0

In the same way as even after this years BT increase, I am paying just £25.15 for Fibre 1 with line rental ( phone never used) minus £19.99 per year LRS pay in advance discount, Virgin generally charge at least as much without a phone line. ( Due to advance payment my monthly bill is £5.16 per month)jbrassy said:Do people still use landlines? Can’t remember how long I’ve been with BT probably 5/6 years

If you have a bill credit that is LRS ( line rental saver ) related , presumably you paid approximately £220 upfront at some point in the previous 12 months and if LRS were to continue, would have received from that point 12 ( 1 per month ) £20 credits on your bill ( hence the £220 upfront being worth £240 ) , if you have had a roughly £50 credit it suggests that your LRS has been cancelled with between 2 and 3 months remaining on that 12 month period , hence you are getting a £50 refund , but next months bill and all subsequent months I would imagine you won’t get the £20 bill credit , you pay the ‘full’ amount as you have had returned the unspent balance of the £220 .
TBH , a whole year benefit of being on LRS is £20 , obviously any monies returned the majority will be a refund of the £220 paid upfront and a small percentage will be some if the £20 benefit you would have received if LRS had continued and not been withdrawn0 -
They aren’t cancelling the existing line rental saver - that continues through to January 2024 when it expires - that’s clear from their email and the recent bill, which also shows the credit for the LRS from my regular monthly charge.0

Lots of people need a landline for a Community Alarm to work, hopefully do not need to use it all that often, but having a landline can make a big difference.jbrassy said:Do people still use landlines? What’s the extra LRS credit for then ?, AFAIK the normal LRS ‘credit’ is £20Jmc85 said:They aren’t cancelling the existing line rental saver - that continues through to January 2024 when it expires - that’s clear from their email and the recent bill, which also shows the credit for the LRS from my regular monthly charge.0 -
It’s the “compensation” credit BT are giving customers who have been in the LRS scheme now it’s ending. See the first post on page 1 quoting BT’s email about it, specifically the paragraphs under “What happens next?”.iniltous said:

My bill dated 27 June was for £46 .
there was no mention of the rebate on my bill, I had the email re LRS ending the day before and that at least £10 would be credited to my account.
I assumed my bill was already being processed and so had missed the credit and would be applied to my July bill. However when my DD was taken yesterday they only took £6.99
So about £37 ‘compensation’ for having LRS over the last 5 years.
I still don’t understand why it wasn’t itemised in my June bill though1
