Compare the fixed rates to the variable rates.

Include your guess of what the variable rates might be in the future, and whichever exit fees might be applicable if you change your mind later.
  • Hi,
have a look at this THREAD.
  • I have just locked this deal in for 12 months - i know that prices can go either way, but for us the peace of mind is much better and the monthly payment is belowwhat we expected (2 year fixed ends next week)

Andy - from other posts I think you confirmed - region as N Wales and Mersey.

The savings v3 vs v2 - which you had posted before - as iirc it exactly matched the SVT for July 1st - roughly 3.3p on both the standing charges - so 6.6p saving - in what is an expensive region (most expensive iirc) - c£24 pa.

    Sound about right ?

Hopefully not big enough to annoy any who did sign on to v2.

Sometimes a bit of certainty is no bad thing.

I’d just like the option of having a fix to consider. Seems they don’t consider me loyal enough

Thats is correct sir - N Wales and Mersey (I did cause some confusion with my initial post when stating North West).

I was initially offered the V2 fix, but then when I went to fix it they had pulled the V2 and offered the V3. The numbers you have quoted are about right - the V3 works out (for me) about £2 cheaper a month compared to the initial V2 offer.

If prices go down we lose, but the monthly cost for us is well within budget so for me and the mrs the peace of mind fixing for 12 months is worth it - the extra we were expecting to pay will go on mortgage overpayments.

When does your fixed rate end? We only got offered a new fix around 4-6 weeks before our current rate finished

It ended weeks ago, I’ve had zero offers and have been moved onto standard. It’s all very opaque

Makes you wonder what makes one customer more "loyal" than the other.

Could see an obvious problem with giving the V1 to many - as the standing charge(s) were much lower than SVT.

ML was kicking off on the lack of transparency on these sort of fixed tariffs.

It does appear that E.ON Next are only offering fixes to those coming off a fix. I believe their fix offer window started 30 days before 1 July.

People who came off a fix prior to 1 June are not being offered a fix. My 2 year fix ended on 30 March, and I have been on their SVR since 31 March.

As with many organisations, loyalty has a limited definition.
