Eon new Tarif offer - is this good?

Hi
We have a dual energy tariff with Eon.  During the height of the price increases we were put up to £324 a month on direct debit.  It turned out we didnt need to be on this much and ended up nearly £800 in credit in our account which we've withdrawn.

Our tariff is coming to an end now, and this is what they have offered below.  I get confused by these things, but I guess the important element is price per kwh? Is this reasonable now to accept? Thanks!

    By Comparison, I just ran a quote and the new NextFlex SVR (in Northern Scotland) are;

Electricity - Daily Standing Charge 58.98p       - Unit Rate 29.97p

Gas  -         Daily Standing Charge  29.11p       - Unit Rate 7.46p

    Hi,

going by your user name, if you are in SW region then looks like your SVR rates from 1st July will be,
    so looks like you'll only save on daily standing charges, 2 x 3.29p x 365 = £24.
Though who knows what rates will be in Oct, or next winter.

    Y'all take care now.

Thank you - good guess - we are in South Devon.

What I am getting from the replies are, the rates seems generally better than Northern Scotland and there isn't much savings elsewhere.  Who are South Western?   Bit confused there :)

You'll be hit with £150 in exit fees if you change supplier.  There seems to be some confusion whether this applies if you switch to a different E.On Next tariff, so read the Ts & Cs very carefully.

That's your electricity distribution licence region.

It is roughly the same unit rates as you would get on the standard variable tariff (with no exit fees) from July 1st to September 30th with a small reduction in standing charge. You have to make a judgement (better called a guess!) as to whether prices will go down after this point, in which case there could well be a better fix on offer then, or whether this might be the best deal for the next twelve months. No one knows which. Wholesale prices have been very volatile in the past couple of weeks with short term rates doubling, but much of this short term spike has already been lost. Rates for gas next winter have also risen but not by as big a percentage, and they are now on the decline again though still quite a bit higher than a couple of weeks ago.

    Hi Devonian20
You may be lucky - I'm from Southern region and have requested new competitive rates from Eon.Next who are 100% renewable supply so I assume very little volatility. They said they do not have any rates at the moment and would advise on 1st July.I did press them to contact the Management as they must know by now! - nothing doing wait untill 1st July.[I do of course know the default rate for 1st July] but we should be back to some sort of competition by this tme. Have contacted USWITCH who also said they have nothing as yet so  leave your email address and we will get back to you was their response.
It seems that the energy companies are still operating as a coalition. So does anyone have any good knowledge or advice on best rate and supplier?

They are not - so your assumption is invalid.  They supply grid-mix power the same as almost all the other suppliers.  Plus the price of renewables is volatile anyway.

Have you noticed that the government has been setting the price for the last nine months?  And now OFGEM are?  Don't really think that counts as "energy companies operating as a coalition".

Another MSE'r  - in NWales and Mersey - just confirmed similar  - £2pm SC savings.

So slight sweetener on V2 deal.  Which for him at least was SVT on both rates and SC.
