  • If haemoroid (sp? I don't recall ever writing the word before) cream shrinks what it's intended to do plus the wrinkles under your eyes could it shrink your finger?

If you don't have any thin thread - dental floss works a treat. This was the trick I was going to suggest as I know it works.

I's just hold my hand up in the air for a while until the probable fluids redistributed. Then something icky - try sucking/licking the finger around the ring, think ice-cream cone style. This always works for me if mine get stuck;)

Lately I've got the opposite problem in that my engagement ring keeps falling off!

I've had a ring cut off when I was alot younger. I was sucking my finger and got a fright and bit down digging the sides of the ring right into my finger. My grandad had to get a tiny pair of wire cutters and cut it twice to get it off it was so mis-shapen :o

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    HELP.!!!!!
Foolishly I put a cheap mood ring on the same finger as my wedding ring and I can't get it off, it's stuck fast to my wedding ring. I can't remove my wedding ring as I have put on a lot of weight over the intervening years. Would a jeweler be able to cut it off without damaging my wedding ring or is there any other way I could separate the rings?

Am guessing you gave tried a lot of soap? How long have you worn the mood ring? Can't imagine why it would stick unless it has been on for ages...

Maybe try prying a knife between the two of them very carefully to see how stuck they are, they may seperate easier than you think.

  • Have you tried sticking your hand in a bowl/bucket of ice?

Thanks ZoeGirl and r.a.i.n.b.o.w. I've tried washing up liquid and a palate knife but I haven't tried the ice. I will give it a go.

If ice doesn't help then might be worth trying hot water as the different metals may expand at different rates. Maybe even alternate between hot and cold.

Start on a cold day and use the ice and hold your hand with the fingers pointing upwards (so that all the blood/fluids run back towards your elbow) this reduces the natural puffiness that occurs in every one's hands.
    This has worked for me.

A&E regularly remove rings... I don't know if their skills are honed enough to just remove one though? Also a possible drain on NHS services?! But maybe you could find out what equipment they use?
