Pay or not?

  • Apologies for not updating the forum sooner. Since June not much has happened, I appealed the fines which were denied. I followed the advice on the forum which I appreciate. Over the last few months they have sent endless letters and text messages threatening legal action. Recently I have been contacted by BW Legal representing Countrywide to attempt to negotiate getting payment from me, they stated if I did not pay in full and resolve in a month they may proceed to a legal process and they would send a Letter of Claim as the next step. The deadline has not yet passed but I will be waiting over the coming months for the letter to arrive.

When it happens, the second post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with a Letter of Claim.

Please please (please) do this and give the Government your evidence - the horrific series of frightening £170 demands - and tell them how receiving extortionate 3 figure threats and the thought of defending a court claim feels:

    Explained there.

    PLEASE READ AND JOIN US.

It's one email. One question; will take minutes.

Make sure you attach letters to provide evidence.

Obviously state at the start of your email response to the DLUHC that you are a consumer answering Question 4 and that the fact it has increased so much has made you seek advice and dig your heels in and not pay, which is not your usual approach but the PCN is extortionate.

It is not something you wanted to happen but you did not pay the unfair PCN and will now see the parking firm in court, as many good people have to.  Add that you want your evidence to help inform the DLUHC to see how bad this is for honest consumers caught by a wrongful PCN with no way to appeal.

Change the law... we already are...

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
