    As per my other reply on a different thread I don’t think it’s just a Nationwide process. I had same with halifax

    Leeds building society were best for us. Closed the account and paid out the same day I took in the closure request form (probate was already provided).

    Skipton building society second & co-op third

    However Nationwide were the last isa to pay out. We had closed a flex account into the executor account as it didn’t pay interest shortly after dad passed away. When I handed in the form to close the isa they sent it on to their bereavement team who filed it away. When I rang to chase payment I was told they thought we had already closed the account, despite the fact that the original form had both account numbers but showed the isa to stay open and the second form only including the isa account number to now be closed.
