Wm x 3 done, dried and back in. Including the kitchen curtains - flying in extremis, I believe. They are dry clean only - seem to have survived the hand wash cycle ok! Thunder is a-rumbling but not a drop of rain in sight. My plans for the day were yet again hijacked. This time by DH who decided to start turfing everything out of the garage. Eek, some of that stuff moved here with us, 17 years ago. Still, I don’t like to stop progress in its path, so I have accepted responsibility for the piles of flower pots (actually belonged to his dad, but in the name of world peace I got on with it 😇) and had a turn out.Got a bit of the wobbles now as I have had a letter and email about a shunt in the back that I has 2.5 years ago, when stationary in a queue of traffic. The insurance company haven’t recouped the money, so are taking legal action. You are kidding me - this was 2.5 years ago, a company lorry that hit me, and they provided insurance details straight away, after admitting liability at the time. And this became my fault exactly when??Oohh big thunder now. I hope Mr Piggers isn’t still trotting about nekkid…4

Sorry the rain has missed you, Fayolle. I was just about to take Rosie out for a walk at about 4.30 when it started to thunder and black clouds swirled around the big hill (about 5 miles away). I thought the rain had missed us too, but the black clouds were replaced by heavy grey ones, and we have enjoyed a steady downpour for the past hour. I shall still have to water the tomatoes and peppers in the morning - being in the mini-greenhouses, they don't get rained on!
Poor Rosie is very much afraid of storms - she ran back indoors and into the depths of DH's man cave as soon as she heard the thunder, and has only just emerged, now that the rain is easing.
Since cooking and eating tea with DH, I have sorted the things that I took earlier off the now-empty shelves into separate boxes for various recipients. I have also prised apart about 50 perspex keyrings in order to remove the old slips of paper with their OOD advertising material, and will pass them on the DS2 if he wants them for community use.
I feel I have got a long way to being liberated of a big pile of stuff I no longer want. During the coming week I should be able to declutter almost all of it out of this house5 -
No rain here. I brought in my dry washing midafternoon to avoid potential barbecue fumes.
Just been to town to pick up my prescription and fill up with petrol. It can be hot tomorrow now if it wants to!

DS just phoned, he’s popping round tomorrow, i was that busy moaning about my chemo side effect (toilet involved, so that’s enough) i forgot to tell him about the covid (plus i don’t feel ill). So i messaged him. He is coming for his golf clubs so will not come in the house. And that will be flingage! Woot!
Sleeve finished for cardi for friends 1st grandchild, it is very, very neat. i am extremely proud of how neat it is. I keep getting it out of the bag and admiring it 🤣
WUALTD, DW and WM both loaded. Vacuumed round. Cleaned bathroom blind and make up brushes. house lovely and cool. Double glazing and closed blinds worked a treat.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Fayolle said:Sorry to interrupt everyone’s enjoyment, but I am rain dancing. It’s not a pretty sight, but I have so many overgrown and leggy plants to get into the allotment that I would dearly love a couple of days (I will settle for night rain, if that helps) of rain.
Spent a lot of the rest of the day skulking in the shade with a book. I did manage to do some gardening in short bursts before I melted so have now planted all the 'new' bedding/basket plants we bought the other day, some sunflowers which were hanging around in pots, pulled off a load of tomato side shoots and cut back some spent flowers on some heucheras.
Mr N and I fine tuned our route round the London gardens for tomorrow. We're aiming to go early (for us) to see some of them before it gets too hot, so I'm not hanging about writing much more of a report late tonight.
Did one load of washing about 6pm, hung out and brought it in dry by 8pm.
I hope the sickies and grumpies improve in the next few days.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -

weather forecast has changed for Valliland and it doesn’t look like we will get rain, to which i was looking forward.
woke up with a blocked nose but being vertical seems to have sorted that.
Need to cancel tomorrow’s booked swim.
