DD appeared at 7:15 requesting thermometer. Long story short, she has covid so she’s not gone into her work placement (in hospital). And she’s to keep out of my way, because I may be immunocompromised (is that a word). Blood test today anyway.

Washing machine will be whirring all day. Going to file my nails next then walk Poppet.Spend less now, work less later.8 -

Afternoon all,
I am so behind with you all that I have resorted to taking a 5 minute break at work and logging on.
Thank you for the thread, Valli, I hope you can stay well away from any bugs and that your DD doesn't feel too rough. Well done on the swimming.
I hope your DH is feeling better, Iona x
Narc0 - you used a couple of words that really summed up how I was feeling at the weekend. I can't remember what they were, but despondency came into the phrase. Yep, that sums me up. Just despondent at how much I can see needs doing but never get to (in fairness, the allotment despondency is due to lack of rain - none since the beginning of May here - so it is now impossible to weed or plant atm). I seem to be gaining weight at the drop of a hat, which is also frustrating me, as my summer clothes are decidedly tight, if I can actually get them on at all..
After work yesterday, I did make myself keep ticking off just one more job: Basil babies planted up, dinner cooked, pack up done, kitchen visible bits sort of tidied up, HHI, washing sorted, measured myself in case I now have to make something to wear to a summer wedding. Big mistake, as the measurement didn't look any better in cm than it did in inches - my usual trick!!
I am my own worst enemy - tomorrow I have a day off to go out with DD for lunch in the uni city. I can see no flying on the cards for tomorrow either.
Hugs and GWS wishes to anyone who needs them x

33 items thrown at V!nted.. mostly what I hoofed from my cupboard a couple of weeks ago.. there are some jeans Meem is going to try but they can go on if she doesn't want them.
DW needs to go on before I trot off to school to pick up the birthday bunny.

Evening.
I managed to cut the front grass before going to dentist and hoovered most of house when I got back. Purchased some bras which actually seem really comfortable.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Hi all
Cycled to work and back, not easy cycling home after a busy 8.5 hour day. Gave our bedroom a good dust and hoover and grudgingly cleared DSs floordrobe. Curry out of the freezer for tea.
There is a re-organisation afoot at the paid stuff, potentially more money for me, but more stress. I need the money for now at least.
Need to make my lunch for tomorrow and then I will relax with my book before bed.
Well done on the swimming Valli.7 -

- caught up on a lot of flagged email actions
- paid cc
- paid swim instructor
- started searching for info on local dentists as ours is going private shortly
- ordered Mr T clubcard vouchers as they will soon be worth less
- planned our route for Open Gardens visit on Sunday
- rang finance guy who is sorting out my pension to make an appointment
- did pay claim

K and I cleaned through the whole of my little house this morning - she even wiped the tops of the freestanding wardrobes in DH's bedroom which hadn't been dusted for about 4 years
DH is still in the horse piddle, now being fully monitored and receiving a new cocktail of antibiotics. He won't be coming home tomorrow. The friend whose party we went to on Saturday was also admitted early this morning, with a suspected heart attack, and is in the bay in the isolation unit that DH had been occupying until the wee small hours!
As well as visiting DH, I managed to go to the tip with a car boot full of rubbish [fer-ling], buy some elastic for my gardening hat, deliver some brand-new but surplus-to-requirements cake boards to a friend who can use them for her celebration cake business [fer-ling], do a small food shop which should keep me going until at least the end of the week, walk Rosie and feed her, eat fridge leftovers for my tea, play with Rosie, watch the end of the TV programme during which I fell asleep last night, play with Rosie again, and work out a couple more cryptic crossword clues.
(((Hugs))) to all in need - that's everyone, I expect xxx7 -
dd is coping. i am trying to avoid her as I am on meds which can cause white blood cells to drop. i have stood in her doorway and thrown tissues in. she’s clearly feverish and she’s changed pjs at least twice.
Anyway i made tea - chilli con carne - which she has planned to do as she batch cooks for lunches, so leftovers portioned up and in freezer. have done loads of ironing - deployed both maidens but there’s still loads to do.
Oh and i have finished the jumper. All cast off and ready to finish sewing up.
not cleaned bathroom but i have put towels in for a hot wash.
WUALTD, tidied kitchen and shifted other carp. Been for blood tests. Booked next weeks blood test but as i typed that i realise i should have booked for a fortnight so will have to ring and reschedule tomorrow. must book swimming. amazingly knees feel much better - clearly non weight bearing exercise is the way to go.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
