Hi, @willow_loulou. Have you looked at premier seeds direct? I noticed they are now selling sprouting seeds. There normal seeds are very cheap, so might be worth a look, hugs, mumtoomany.xx
Edited to add, enjoy your holiday, @London_1Frugal Living Challenge 2025.
Grocery challenge, £1300 food plus £200 cleaning materials etc, for the year.8 -

I've bought from them (off ebay, but the same folks), the clover's still going strong even in the heat. I was going to dig it in as green manure a while back & kind of lost ooomph. Meanwhile I've been having astonishing luck with seeds from food (mango, tangerine etc) - anyone who says the planet is not warming has not seen a mango growing in Lancashire!11

@DigForVictory I’ve been doing so well with grown from pip too! I’ve just got some grapefruit to try their pips too.I’ve a lemon that’s doing so well from last year, I need to pot it up but doing that killed my Apple I grew so I’m a little reluctant 🥶Life happens, live it well.6

I had an apple that died on me suddenly - I think it was a supermarket cheap & cheerful & ik simply hadn't got its roots settled in before last summers heat. This year the new plants are being checked for possible heatstroke... (Odd how an hour lugging watering cans seems to trigger rain!)7 -
I see India is banning all rice exports other than basmati rice. Expect to see price rises as that ban percolates through.
Even basmati rice may go up in price where it is substituted for other sorts. Trying to figure where to store the sack we bought where it won’t get wet or exposed to sunlight! (Lashed to a roof truss seeming a bit extreme & anyway son dries his kayak up there….)8 -
I think looking ahead and making sure your basic stuff has a decent amount of stuff in store will be useful as with the war still carrying on in eastern europe and grain possible going to rise in price once more it will have a knock on effect on our basic bits rice, flour, pasta sugar. Stuff that will keep pretty good and you can adapt for many things I always have a spare bag of oats and lentils around my cupboards as they can be added to minced beef to bulk it out a little and oats can be made into biscuits and lentils into soups. Not panic buying just perhaps an extra little on your shopping if you see it at a reasonable price .I know we are just coming into August but winter will be upon us before you know it.If it saves you some extra cash that will help towards the fuel bills

willow_loulou said:Does anyone have a recommendation for micro green seeds. I’ve finally produced amaranth and cress (great combination) so want more seeds but holy heck some are expensive! I’m going to grow a few on to see if can grow my own but in the meantime I need more. Thanks 😊5
