Out the whole day today at our staff conference. It was a good day but I am exhausted from it. It might be to do with eating my body weight in biscuits though.Grateful today for Mum looking after DS, for a work away day with lots of tea, biscuits and a good lunch, and for a shiny new kettle… behold…

Inspired just a bit by ldee's joy at their new kettle, and the benefits of planning ahead (a position which I am coming to somewhat late in life!)9 -
One more day done @Toni'sfriend? I hope it went smoothly.
I have had quite a weary day today, long work meetings that sapped me! I did do an olio collection today, lucky for my waistline this time there were no pastries or bread I enjoy. Am down to just one or two people requesting at the moment, but my extended family and friends are always happy to re-home leftovers. I keep thinking I should do something to promote to those locally who might really, need it, maybe flyers in the local food bank etc. I did a round of leaflet drops back in the spring, close to my folks place where I do the distribution from.
Lots of medical stuff today, phone calls, drugs arriving, some tricky procedures as not all the equipment arrived that was needed. We did a bit of dynamic problem solving aka winging it.
Chased solicitors for closing balance and confirmation of where to send it. Need to send batch 1 tomorrow as the local ish bank has shut down, so is now over an hour to drive to a bank to do anything in person.I am hoping to be able to send the payment in 2 lots tomorrow and Friday. Completion is set for Monday. I still have no real plan yet for how to move anything into there. Am working less tomorrow and will make a plan, in between ferrying for a leg cast appt.
Contacted a couple of potential short term lodgers to see if I could help fill the empty rooms over the summer. 🤞

Yay @Toni'sfriend, not long to go!!
thank you @starlight for the new thread
what a beautiful kettle @ldee2111
Nothing much going on here really. Have been devouring books (nick hornby and Zadie smith seem to be making me fall in love with reading again) and planning Malaga trip this weekend. Have racked up a few NSDs this week but no idea of the total!!Student loan £5655
House deposit €32,667K/€40k8 -
Thank you. I would have been finished yesterday if the oncologist hadn't decided at the last minute to give me four boosts (whatever they are!). Still, she's the expert and knows what she's talking about.
Absolutely no idea how many NSDs I've had this month. Actually, maybe that should be I've no idea about anything just nowMust really get back to some kind of normality next month. xxx

As always, at this part of the month I have a Doors earworm (this is the end, my friend). Thank you to everyone who has participated and contributed in any way, many thanks for the support given to poorly turtles and sensible advice for those who are too tough on themselves.
My to do list has attained Hydra status, every problem solved spawns more and my productivity is slower than a snail but I do something every day and hopefully it will all make sense someday. I am going to try attending the afternoon film club tomorrow (my social life has dwindled to non-existent and the longer I leave it, the harder it becomes to interact with people). I read the notices at the library and there are 2 once a month groups that interest me - a sort of knit and natter group (you take along whichever craft project you're currently working on - or leaving in it's bag and getting nowhere and it might help me decide if I'm actually going to finish the outstanding wip). The second group is a support group for those dealing with clutter at home (or not dealing with it) and it might help me (so would a week's holiday with nothing to do - make that 5 days, I don't have enough fit to be seen in public clothes for a week).
Anyway enough moaning, I'll start herding these elephants. Everything that's not an elephant is being bagged , I have 10 bags so far, 4 'piles' of stuff and 4 categories of 'keeping but not needed right now' stuff in a small expanding file. There are many other files with bits of stuff in.
I'm really looking forward to next month and Starlight's challenge - I feel like I've been stuck in the mud for months (bottom of a swamp some weeks) and I need to look ahead of all the stuff bogging me down and decide where I'm going. Ah well, strap on my armour (multi layer bandages) and cut the stuff mountain into multiple little molehills, then make progress with the most urgent.
thankful for all the turtles, lots of large print books, plodding along. Rainbows on my ceiling and walls (the sun is being refracted off something but not sure what).
