I can't even remember what I was looking at on the internet but I clicked on something and a BBC news type format appeared. There were, I think, quotes from two characters, each masquerading as a BBC employee. Both extolled the virtues of Quantum AI. Greed and stupidity secured my registration. Only then did I think, 'Oh! No!' so I shrank from the precipice. This was Sunday afternoon (17/9/2023). Since then I've had approximately 16 phone calls from the Quantum criminals.-1

I suggest before registering or buying online you use a website checker. The one below I have found is quite good.

These websites only catch the most blatant scams and risk giving legitimacy to the bigger ones.1 -

I have two others I also regularly use when I need to check up on a website, so as to reduce the chance or a scam web site getting through,
If I intend to give someone money, using the web checker would be my first step, then I would do more checking.

The FCA register should be the first step. Usually it includes the genuine website address of an authorised firm.

I am now in this scam as I read a new article with Martin Lewis's name all over it and now I'm constantly being harassed with calls. I've had several calls being rude and angry with me when all I have been is polite and calm. How can we stop these calls? I'm not interested in changing my number.0

Just don't answer the phone to any unknown numbers. If they are legit. they will leave a message.

I once had a restaurant keep texting me about special offers. Despite telling them twice to remove my details they still texted. So I called them up to place a fairly large order for takeaway. I said I would come round to collect in 20 min. 30 min later the restaurant owner called me to ask how long I would be. I laughed and told him to remove my details. He sounded p!ssed off.Never got a single text since.1
