Evening,
Well done on the knitting Valli, it's something I haven't done since I was a kid but you lot seem to be at it all the time. Maybe as I'm a Grammy now I should start.
Work has been really easy today which has been a breakthrough after the last few weeks. Walked home and it was cold and it's cold in the house too. Dinner plans were thrown out as DH had brought a load of Deli meat reduced whiteout thinking what we were going to have it with, I get so frustrated as no-one thinks about it so I work it out and plan it all and then am expected to drop the planned because he got a so called bargain which I am then expected to deal with! That's means using up the leftover pork has to be pushed back to tomorrow and the chicken breasts I defrosted a couple of days ago to use and haven't which could have been used tomorrow will not have to be changed again. I know this is third world problems but I don.t like to waste anything.
Flying tonight has just been a little in my office/craft room but nothing dramatic and I've reconciled the bank accounts to my computer programme. Oh and I scrubbed the carpet where DH had split tea when he brought it up to me last evening.
Sorry I feel like a grump this week after I did so well last week when I usually hate being on my own
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!6 -
I did write a post about how i was struggling with the knitting, and to wish Natty good luck with the house hunting,
I also moaned about how rough the new meds made me feel - it’s effectively a chemo drug, so i have lots of medicines to counteract the side effects. However, two hours in I felt much better so there you go. i have taken my evening one, all seems ok apart from the bloating and bloating release mechanism *blush*
I have left the kitchen in a mess because i’m knitting sleeve 2 now
anyway living room properly cleaned so that’s a plus. it’s a bit bad when i’m using cleaning and knitting to procrastinate…
all recycling bins emptied and back in their slots.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Glad you are feeling better Valli.
Lovely catch up with DS yesterday, then was hit by a massive wave of anxiety on the park and ride bus, thought I was going to have to get off and walk, but I didnt. Still felt rubbish when I got home so was in bed early. All of this probably wasnt helped by the two massive coffees I drunk after limiting my caffeine for months. Anyhow today I am going to do some paid stuff from home and generally try to be kind to myself. I also need to work on strategies for not letting this anxiety get out of control.
Flying will be gentle but will include the utility room which is a constant battle because DH uses it as a dumping ground and its the first room I see when I walk in the house and it winds me up.
Have a good Friday all x7 -
hi all
getting up shortly. so far so good side effect wise - fingers crossed.
YL there’s a technique called ‘grounding’ which is simple and, apparently, effective.

I have just plonked myself on the sofa and eaten half a carton of custard. Out of the carton. With a spoon though, so some decorum in place. Now you all know that I am a slob, but it sums up my week. Work has been full pelt from start to finish. Thank goodness I worked my day off, otherwise I would have been in tears by now. The house is a pit. Dinner for tomorrow is probably still in the freezer, or maybe in a tin. The garden is unloved, has been hit by a chilly NE wind all week, and no rain forever. Ditto the allotment. But it’s Friday, and despite all that, here we all are.Tomorrow I plan to fly indoors and out. We have no guests, nobody to feed apart from ourselves. In the meantime I have a cuppa and an iced bun which I have sneaked home as my evening treat whilst DH is out. And I have the remote control for the evening.
See you all tomorrow x5 -
Mmmmmm. Custard. And an iced bun. Nom nom. Sounds good to me. I had a cheese and pickle sandwich and a fresh cream apple turnover....well 2 actually, because they come in packs of 2. 🤷♀️
I called at Mr C00p on my way home from work and bought toilet rolls and coffee. Gulp. I really must get back into the habit of visiting Mr L. But I didn't have a pizza delivered tonight so it evens out a little.
I'm banjaxed, and going to bed.
See you in the morning and 🎶 come fly with me🎵 . Well that's the plan anyway.
Love to all

I stand with Fayolle and round and confess to having eaten a whole tin of rice pudding out of the tin (with a spoon) this evening.
I tidied round and DH hoovered this morning. Apart from going to the gym and completing another task within a froggy job, I have spent the day recovering from having to look after my goddaughter and her sister yesterday when I was already worn out (and the older one was abominable).
Roll on tomorrow... xxx7 -

I have stripped my bed and remade it (bliss) DD cooked tonight (bliss). my big rabbit was offered treats of dried cranberries which she took from my hand. given neither rabbit was handled much before they were rescued that’s a big thing.
DW and WM ready to do their stuff.
and i scrubbed (with a scrubbing brush) 16 plastic chairs at work so that was definite flying.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Quiet here this week; I've had the occasional lurk but have been frantically catching up on everything, or trying to after a few meltdowns and despondency.
Summary for the week:
- work: 2 reports left to write; neither are overdue and I've started one. So far no work booked for next week - I don't mind either way.
- garden: all but a couple of the new plants are in their new homes. Greenhouse is more under control than it was......a couple more days should see all tomatoes and peppers in bigger pots/grow bags. 2nd batch of sweetcorn growing nicely and will be ready to put outside in a week or so. Cucumbers are next urgent need to pot up. Loads more to do in the garden but not quite so overwhelming now.
- exercise: have done 1 body pump and 1 run. No zumba as half term; I cancelled Pilates as I was in the middle of a report.
Today:
- went for a run
- finalised friend's shopping list to do tomorrow
- did really major cleanup in kitchen for about 3hrs including putting away any items which shouldn't be in there, sorted through 'miscellaneous' box and threw some bits away (box contained paper clips, stamps, mystery keys......etc), clearing all surfaces, wiping appliances including emptying toaster crumb tray, took all plants off windowsills and fed them, wiped windowsills, swept and mopped floor.
- filled bird feeders
- read solar panel meter
- paid for next 5 lake swims
- started another report
- did some drumming practice
- took some spare French bean plants to the village plant swap table, put others next to car to take to friend tomorrow
- replenished church flower arrangements, hoovered
- did small flower vase for spare room as friend is staying 2 nights. Final spare room check.
- potted on some peppers
About to get swimming stuff ready for tomorrow as I'm aiming for Mr S first thing to get friend's shopping. Fingers crossed the scanners are working this week.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8
