RWG top up question

bjbyorkshire said:Hello, I have RWG as muy back up sim with Asda mobile as my main sim. I accidentally didn’t end a call while on holiday and it ran on for 1hour 30 mins using up most of my £5:00 monthly allowance leaving me with half of my original £5:00. Question is….
When does the next monthly £5 begin? Is it always the 1st of the month or is it the date on which you first joined RWG. I now have £2:25 left of my original £5. So how do I get that back to £5:00? If I just do a £5:00 bundle top up I think that it will use from that rather than my free £5:00. Hope I have made clear what I mean here.Help much appreciated, thanks.
You can check your free bundle by texting Info ukrwg0 to 669.
HOWEVER if you go over your free allowance you will be charged at 5p/5p/1p out of your initial topup and you will not get that money back. So your balance will remain at £2,50 until you use more than your allowance or topup again.
EDIT you only need to topup if you overspend your bundle again and need the security of a credit balance.
Rwg no longer offer the free monthly bundle with £5 or £15 initial topup, so unless you buy a bundle any calls or texts you make will be chargeable until your bundle refreshes.1 -
I joined RWG when we all jumped ship from Asda when the rates shot up by a large amount. I left my main number with ASDA as I was a bit wary that RWG were an unknown company to most of us MSE but now we have found that they seem to be a company that will hopefully be around for some time (who really knows that). I may well port my number from ASDA to RWG and remove the second sim from my phone as it does get a bit confusing which sim I need to use. Friends will say that they didn’t recognise my number if I use the RWG number so it would be easier all round to have my tried and tested number only in use. Thanks for the post above0

It is weird that your mobile managed to make a call while simultaneously receiving one, I imagine the dual sim functionality played a part and you were actually receiving the call through asdamobile (and presumably your rwg sim was connecting to voicemail as the person you were calling was calling you). I sometimes have a similar scenario as I use a promo lyca sim to make calls but my main number is my rwg sim and OH usually rings that one.

I think you are absolutely correct that this was what’s happened. Friend and I were across a busy road, I called her to say I am looking straight at you if you turn around you will see me waving at you. I’m not sure which sim i was calling on. I heard my phone buzz and she was calling me. She only has my Asda number. That must be how it happened. You are a clever detective investigator. Thanks.0

Well I have no idea exactly how one mobile can be on two calls at once,, but on my galaxy s20 there is an option called dual sim always on with the curious explanation "talking on one sim doesn't block calls from another"
My understanding was that you would be able to see that you had another call, such as a work call coming through when you were using your social sim, rather than the recipient simply getting a line busy message.0 -
You are able to put one call on hold and speak to the other caller0

Thanks but I am not so savvy as to be able to do that. It was a genuine mistake on my part and I will make sure I am more careful in ending my calls in future. Thanks for the heads up though.0
