    Hi All,

Earlier today I was in a meeting and started hearing this immense hammering outside. It started getting louder and louder when I realised it was coming form my next door neighbour who got BT in to put a cable to his garden office. The BT Engineer was hammering at my fence attaching this cable. I had to excuse myself from the meeting and confronted the Engineer asking him what he was doing and why he was hammering against my fence. Apparently my neighbour said he could as that was the "only" place to put the cable (which is rubbish, he has his own house walls he can hammer against), as well as that it is his side of the fence so it is not an issue. I told him that this was my fence and to stop doing that and take it down and find another way to put the cable but not against my fence. I also told him I gave no one permission to do this either (and I still have not).

I went back inside into my meeting, only to find that my neighbour was out there telling him to carry on and finish the job. I could not get off the meeting the second time. By the time I was done they had finished putting up this cable.

What are my rights with regards to this. The fence is owned by me, I erected it and paid for it. In the deeds I own that property line. Do I have the right to remove the cable from the fence?

    Thanks
How is the fence constructed ?
Are the posts and rails to your side and the finished board on the neighbour's  side or is it a double sided with finished boards on 2 sides
Is it a natural finish and do you attend to stain it in the future so you will need  the neighbour's permission to maintain the fence and what happens if he decides to stain his side.
