Have Lyca silently shifted all 1p MSECH3GB tariffs to 49p?

00:03 "Dear customer, You have been renewed MSECH3GB bundle for 0.01.Your allowance is valid until 23-08-2023."
36 minutes later...
00:39 "Dear Customer,Your bundle threshold limit has reached. We are unable to renew MSECH3GB bundle for GBP 4.90"
Looking past the unprofessional, terrible grammar & inconsistent wording of the messages, I'm stumped as to wth is going on.
Checked my SIM, and my data cap for this month has been correctly refreshed for the expected 1p.
I've no idea what the 2nd message means, nor why it was sent to me this month (the 3rd month of the 6m MSECH3GB promo period).0 -
I got that message immediately after it renewed for the sixth month in june, and took it to mean the bundle would not renew at full price as it was discontinued (I had the 4gb 5p offer which was available until the end of jan). I think the 1p offer was pulled at the beginning of March so presumably you had the sim for a while before using it. Perhaps with the change to ee they are looking to shed some customers?1

My 1st SIM, the one that received the confusing message last night, was ordered April 23rd, arrived 3 days later & was activated immediately (as I was porting my primary number over).
Maybe you're right, and they've exercised their contractual right to alter the deal (and we must pray they don't alter it any further!)
Though if that were the case, I'd have expected some kind of communique, not just a premature termination of the promo out of the blue.
I've had no problem with Lyca's service (in fact their transition to EE has dramatically improved the speeds I receive), however their website, emails, and messaging have proven to be profoundly amateur.0 -
Fair enough, I remembered my 5p deal was pulled at end of Jan and 1p deal initially on offer for a month after. Clearly they extended or modified it. In your position I would wait and see if the bundles do renew, what does your homescreen say if you login? As mine was going up to full price I didn't want mine to renew anyway so switched off autorenew and ported the number out before the renewal date. I have got another couple of sims to activate though so will try one in a few days.0
