Woohoo, what a clever mummy:-) Happy reading. Would you be able to keep the site up-to-date with progress, maybe offer good read suggestions or any particularly good value sources of books (aside from the library lol)?
Whitewing, what an inspirational first job.

this is a great idea, lets hope other mse kids take up the challenge and support each other in recomending and providing interest in good books they have enjoyed. i wish my parents had given me an interest in reading when i was younger, i didnt begin to enjoy books untill i was in my mid 20's after college, i had spent many evenings reading text books and didn't quite know what to do with the spare time so i started reading other books!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

If I'd had this idea with DS1 and DS2, I'd be broke by now ...
DS3, on the other hand ...
Go for it hawkrider, there are a few posts around somewhere asking about book recommendations for various ages, I'm sure we could tell you a few of our childhood faves!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks for your posts everybody! Parents you can set your own reward per book for this challenge. Mum is only paying me £1 per book as she thinks it will only cost her a tenner over the whole year.
My first book is Escape from Shangri-La by Michael Morpurgo. This didn't cost me anything cause my teacher gave it to me as a christmas prezzie. I am 11 years old:cool:Hawkrider123's money saving 2008 book reading challenge #1:T Earnt £12 out of a possible £366 :T0 -

Hi hawkrider
My 13 year old son doesn't like to read (unless it's to do with football).
I'll be watching out for your reviews and recommendations.
Thanks

Why, thank you very much! (He is sitting here shaking his head...)
Thanks everyone for your posts. He is very excited about this, and about being a Money Saving Expert person.
Would be good if he had a young friend to do the challenge with...know any young men, anybody?
Incidentally, I'm capping his potential earnings to £366 for the year! And letting him start today. Strike while the iron's hot!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
