You could take a look at Doro. Phones are quite basic but are new, unlocked and some run on 4g. Check the specifications section as some are just 2g.

Also take a look at Giffgaff refurbished. They are all unlocked and I've had a couple of really nice phones from them in the past.1 -

Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.1

Km that was something I hadn't a clue about so good tipSo thanks folks, I had a quick squiz at Tescos feeble offerings in store just now. Poor.I'll check out the sites for refurbished and hope I still have the box for a shop in town that was part of a chain but didn't make it on our side street. I got a couple of good things from there. My only problem with them was the cheap generic charges that came with them. Don't know if that is the norm?

Just to note that if you don't want/use the internet then 2G is going to be around for a few years yet, and your current Galaxy SII will still work quite happily for calls and text only on 2G.Mobile phones have grown in size since that GT-19100 (Galaxy SII) was designed in 2011.
I had a Galaxy SIII mini since 2014 which I updated last November to a brand new Galaxy A13 4G for £130 from Argos.
It is bigger but I've got used to that.Currently Argos have the Galaxy A04s for £139.99. It measures 165mm x 77mm x 9mm thick.

It's 4G capable and has Android 12. (That should update itself to Android 13 once in use).
It's SIM free (unlocked) so you can put a SIM from any provider in there. (It can actually take 2 different SIMS with different providers and/or numbers). If you want to keep your current provider than you'll have to ask them to send you a new 'nano' sized SIM card, the card from the Galaxy SII won't fit the new phone. But that will probably be the case with any new phone that you buy.
I had to do that and EE had a new nano sized SIM to me the next day, I just had to activate it in the new phone to keep my old number.
There's also a Samsung app to connect old and new phones and transfer your contacts, photos, etc. across to the new one.PS. In case you didn't know new phones rarely come with a charger these days, so unless you already have a suitable charger you will have to get one.
I got a fast charger from my local computer shop for £10, (of course Argos sells them too if you are buying there anyway).
