I am engaged after my traumatic divorce and i am unsure what to wear the ceremony etc.
My fiancee is 8 years younger than me and it will be his first marriage.
I dont like white gowns i wore ivory silk taffeta to my first wedding and i dont want my second wedding to mirror my first.
I was thinking a champagne or very pale pink bateau neckline with small train very modest and plain with a dramatic very long silk veil edged with lace flowers in the same colour as my gown my gown with three quarter sleeves.
I love veils but dont want a tiara or hair clip etc even though my husband to be has kindly offered to pay for a diamond tiara hire.
The jeweller we bought my engagement ring from has a complementary tiara hire but requires a deposit. They had a gorgeous emerald and diamond tiara but we were told its no longer available i was very upset about that.
The wedding will be in a chapel in the grounds of a castle and im having a vintage car on the day a rolls royce phantom in burgundy.
Any suggestions welcome

Ultimately wear what you want to wear on the day, what you feel comfortable in, your partner will be happy whatever you wear, he is there to get married to the person he has chosen to spend the rest of his life with, he will really not be worried about the colour of your dress, you will look beautiful to him no matter what you wear.bluelass said:I am engaged after my traumatic divorce and i am unsure what to wear the ceremony etc.

If you don’t want a tiara, why are you upset that the emerald one isn’t available?Just do your hair the way you want. Your dress style sounds lovely. I agree with MattMattMattUK - wear whatever you want to wear.
If you don't want a tiara, it doesn't matter that a specific one isn't available or that a jeweller requires a deposit for one.
Do you have friends/family who can advise you?

The thought of having to 'look after' a very expensive borrowed tiara on my wedding day would have given me stress, not pleasure. I didn't have a veil, but had a lovely handmade tiara I bought from an ebay seller which received many compliments. I could have afforded something much more expensive, but this fitted my needs perfectly.

Is the above just a bit of back ground info...or are you wanting suggestions of clothes that will match the burgundy rolls royce ?bluelass said:

My wife didnt want her marriage to me to reflect her first marriage. We got married at the registry office, she wore her best dress, i did have to buy a suit as i didnt have one. We had a lovely meal back at our house with her mum and dad, and my sister and her husband. Transport was our Skoda Yeti (silver). Luckily our house is a castle. (the last sentence is a joke btw.)
The money we saved we paid into our pensions which will enable us both to retire another year earlier to enjoy life together and free to do as we wish our days together. (every time we save money we do this and so far will be retiring about 9 years early)10 -

I don't think that's a bad idea tbh. Go for a colour theme that will complement your car. It won't look like your first wedding or be white that you dislike.stuhse said:
