They will be available with either petrol or diesel engines and automatic or manual - hooray* - gearboxes.  The photo in the original post is of a Tourneo Connect with a decidedly unflattering colour scheme, and has been taken at an odd angle.  Pictures of normally coloured examples taken at better angles make the design look rather less ugly.  It still looks like Postman Pat's van, but not actively hideous.  

*actually, why should I care as I won't be buying one...
