Is it just me or is this new Ford ugly, it is meant to replace the Fiesta and Focus?

I suppose if that matters to you more than how practical it is. It looks like a typical Ford, i.e. a knock off of something better.0

I think a lot of cars are getting uglier, the new LR defender especiallyMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...0 -
Reminds me of an old Lada.
Yes more ugly cars about - esp some electric ones. A lot of manufacturers seem reluctant to simply make an electric version of their popular models. I'm sure there's a reason for it.0 -

I think it'd look better if it was out of focus!

Nothing wrong with that, it's the perfect car for blind people.
Seems to the the shape all vehicle are heading towards though. Did they just upscale a Nissan Cube?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
It's Fords new Tourneo Courier.
It's based on the Courier van and like already mentioned, it's a knockoff of the likes of the Berlingo.
Once the Fiesta and Focus are dead it will be Fords cheapest car.
It does appear f'ugly.
Looks like they gave pictures of the Hyundai Tucson front end and the profile of a Defender with it's floating roof to a couple of pre schoolers with a set of crayons.

There are a few.
Mainly their current model's architecture just wasn't really designed for electric powertrains, don't forget the current Fiesta's under pinnings are based on the mid 2000's model.
Plus who would pay nearly £40,000 for a Fiesta?
One or two have managed it, like the Corsa and Mini but most manufacturers were and still are flogging yesterdays engineering at todays prices.

I think it's horrible.
But then again, time (and sales figures) will tell us whether enough people don't.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Looks like the Skoda Roomster to me. Or Berlingo / Partner style.
Perhaps there will be a more car-like derivative on the same underpinnings.
More important than looks is will it make a big step forward in EV provision, or is it a budget 'last hurrah' for the ICE engines?0 -
EV drive train gives opportunities to give better layout I wouldn’t buy an EV built on an ICE platform they are too comprised. The wheels can be pushed to wards the ends giving more internal space. Rear wheel drive is no more expensive to implement than FWD but means less complex front end suspension etc, yet turning circles are better without the need to power the front wheels.warby68 said:Reminds me of an old Lada.
