I've discovered HEBS's systems allow you to make 1p deposits by debit card online. I only did the one 1p debit card deposit as a test though so don't know how many they'd let you do before becoming irritated.

That is correct. I've now edited my post for clarity.
  • For those who have it the Moneybox Simple Saver has now risen from 3% to 4%.

Still showing at 3% for me, do we need to do anything or is Moneybox upping the rates for existing customers?

Mine's also showing as 3%. In the past I've found they automatically increased the rate for existing customers, though I haven't paid much attention to how quickly the rate increases to be fair, I just know they've shown the correct rate when I've next logged into the app. I've just noticed on the website the simple saver is now powered by Santander International, rather than Shawbrook as mine is so whether that will make any difference remains to be seen. I've just sent them a message regarding the discrepancy and shall update the thread once I have a response.

I've had a response, you have to manually change the account from Shawbrook at 3% to Santander International at 4%. I've just set my switch in progress.

    See:

EDIT: I've now added this as a remark to the first page of the thread.

Thank you for the heads up. I don't keep more than £50 in there at a time but might as well have 4% on that rather than 3%.

Interesting that Moneybox seem to be switching allegiances from Shawbrook to Santander.
  • I've made a few alterations to the first page of the thread:

Charity Bank have upped their rates as of yesterday, notably:

    33-day Notice account:  £250-£24999 pays 3% (up from 2.5%), balances over £25k pay 3.16% (up from 2.66%)

    93-day Notice account: £250-£24999 pays 3.03% (up from 2.61%), balances over £25k pay 3.19% (up from 2.76%)

33-day Notice ISA pays 3.01% (up from 2.56%)

The Big Exchange have got round to replying to the message I sent them on facebook after a grand total of 59 days. With regards to multiple DDs they have told me that only one DD may be paid into each account per month, however you may open multiple GIAs and deposit into each once per month. All deposits must come from your nominated account and you may only hold one nominated account irrespective of how many accounts you open and all DDs are taken on 2nd of each month.

Chip are currently offering a prize draw in which one person will receive a bonus equal to their September deposits above the total balance of their account on 1/9/23 (min £1, max £85k). This has now been added as a remark.

Marsden BS allow deposits into their savings accounts in branch, when I messaged them they wouldn't specify a minimum debit card deposit amount but did say that there is a cap of £1k per transaction.
