Pinkpyjama said:Wow although the deal has tweaked somewhat since your post, with CB I can get what I already have (100gb) for 8.50pm .
VF after recent price increase is 40pm!
As long (as you say) there's no caveat re speeds (hate that) and have full 5G it's a no brainer to go with that.
Thanks for the tip.
Do you get Very Me too and I guess once upgrade is complete, you just use your current log in for billing info?
Yep, service is contiguous with existing agreement, same account logon & VeryMe. They did send me a new SIM which got stuck in a draw and ignored.

Ahh I see, different website.
Amazing thank you, I'll get on it this evening.
Makes me stomach their roaming policy a bit more with that overall monthly cost.
Thanks, I'm glad I posted the original question now. Saved a packet!0 -
I ported my phone number from EE to Popit Mobile (runs on EE) and it took 2 days. Placed the new SIM in an old Iphone I had saved until my number made the transfer. So, I wasn't without a phone whilst the number port was in progress.
Farewell long contracts!0 -
I guess you work for Popit Mobile as all your posts are recommendations for them and them alone. Anyway, you'd have to be on the shrooms to agree to pay their prices for the pitiful data allowances they offer.4

Hi folks, I am out of contract with VF and thinking about moving to Lebara to reduce monthly costs - paying £27 for 5GB with VF and moving to equivalent new VF contract costs the same but gives no EU roaming. MSE has deal with Lebara for 5 or 12 GB at much less with EU roaming included. [I note deal with VF above but no roaming and I'm not interested in Very Me].
My query is this - could someone outline the steps to change over (ie idiots guide) - eg take out Lebara contract first?, then cancel VF?, when to get PAC?, etc. My next bill is due end of next week so would like to try to complete before then. Many thanks0 -
Get hold of a Lebara SIM and set up an account with them
Once you have it, get a porting code (PAC code) from Vodafone
Give the code to Lebara
Next day your number will transfer to Lebara
To get the porting code send the word PAC in a text to Vodafone on 65075 while their SIM is in your phone
Using the code ends your Vodafone contract1 -
You can request a pac straightaway, they are valid for 30 days. But don't give it to lebara until you are setup on their service and everything is working. It should then move your number and close your vodafone account in 24/48 hours. The mse deal means they will send you a new sim with a new (temporary) number. You then give lebara that number, your existing number, and your pac and they will arrange to transfer your number, closing your old service.1

gizz_10 said:I ported from Voxi to Lebara who both use the VF network. I have also ported from a VF network to non VF network as well in the last year. The main difference I found was that when going from VF to VF the port process takes longer and there was a window of several hours where I was without any service on my phone - from 7am till about 2pm. Lebara said this was because VF has to do both sides of the port so they deactivate first and then reactivate. By contrast if you go to a completely different network the port is instant and I was never without any service both times -in fact there was a period where both were active for a brief few minutes.0

When porting it can the until the end of the day for everything to switch. You will need to put in the APN for roaming. What phone is it?
You need to be in the UK for the early part of a port to work. I think doing the port on the day you fly could be potentially risky depending on where you are in the process. Hopefully, all resolved by the time you fly.
