    Phone the police immediately.

I think this is a bit previous & rather a frightening response to be honest.

Sam I think it's best if you speak first to the neighbour who is LL of the property as you suggested you were thinking of doing. Then if she thinks there is anything untoward she can arrange to do an inspection of the property & if anything untoward is found along the lines of canabis growing, as opposed to just having a spliff on occasions, she can alert the authorities
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • does it smell a bit sweaty as well as sweet? IF so i think it will be canibis.

Both my neighbours smoke it. In the summer it was alwful. They would blatently smoke in their gardens. In fact one first thing one neigbour asked when we moved in was 'do ya smoke weeeed maaatie'.

Its up to you what you decide to do about it. The stuff or rather the waft from the neighbours, gives me a headache and makes me dizzy so it must be doing something bad.

It can also make you incredibly hungry. I'm guessing prolonged exposure could make him irritable as well.

Are you tring to imply the baby is going to get the "munchies" or feel any drug affect because the room is smelling of cannabis.

If he is only 2 and there is a great deal of smoke filtering into the room then it will start to make him irritable. Bear in mind just the smoke can have this effect on a fully grown adult, so on a child its entirely possible.

depends on a lot of factors, mainly just how much he is inhaling. If its just an occasional waft of a smell it wont have any effect whatsoever.

The smell from growing it and smoking it are completely different... just like tobacco when it's in a pouch versus the smoke, though it would be difficult to put the differences into words.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

Hi, I haven't read every reply but it can't be pleasant living in your house not knowing for sure what's going on next door. What about the possibility of reporting next door the the police anonymously? Under the data protection act I am sure they will not be allowed to disclose your details. If I were you I would just call them for advice and they may decide that it would be better to visit the people who live there to check if everything is okay???

Under these circumstances your little boy is more important. I work in a hospital and don't know much about this drug if it's called that but he is so little and none of us can be sure of any longterm effects if any on him? It's not fair that you have to live with this but I hope it will get sorted out soon. Keep us updated. All the best for Christmas and the New Year.

how does the smell come from next door into your kids room? they must be rubbish walls :o
my neighbor smokes and we never smell it

live and let live and all that.

It seems to come through the floorboards, the house just has original floorboards everywhere, no carpet, there's a couple of holes in the floorboards which I've tried to block but it makes no difference. I'm not saying it's coming through the walls, just that the smell is there and it's vile

The smell is also only there when there is someone in the house. Not been there all day and put my boy to bed at 7pm, no smell, went upstairs at 9pm and his room stinks again. I've opened his door wide and opened the window to get rid of the smell. The bloke next door came in about 8pm and has been up and down his stairs loads of times since coming in.

I'm not making any wild accusations or anything, nor am I saying that my boy's going to turn into a druggie, call me niaive, but I haven't got a clue about this drug and it's affects so I am just looking for advice.

Cattie, I meant that I rent and I was going to let my landlady know (just to let her know why we want to move) the guy who lives next door owns the house and he has two lodgers (the smell's only been around since they have, before it was him, his girlfriend and their two children, since they left & he brought his mates in, it's got worse)

Not sure if I'd call it smoke, there's just a smell which is why I don't know if there is any harmful effects, he's certainly been restless last couple of nights.
  • live and let live my !!!!. My backside. Sorry for that but if anything was affecting my children from someone's illegal use of dope I would be furious. How about letting the little boy live a normal life?
