This might limit your opportunity in the future when another opportunity, switching, reward in the future.
It'll be too early for him to tell us if the debit cards and inboxes issue affects him, as he only just opened new account. I've been affected by it (but haven't tried to get it sorted) and at least another couple of forumites I know of.
I believe one of them was able to get it sorted. I'll look for the post and post it here if you're interested.adindas said:PloughmansLunch said:adindas said:I just opened a new TSB one to restart the clock for £5 monthly reward. They will automatically merge it after a few days (typically a week) and you could see all of the accounts in one login. I used to have six of them, all of them are shown i the same login.
Online banking isn't any better - I can see both accounts with any login details but each login only shows a different set of card and inbox info. TSB CS said to have more than one Spend & Save account I'd have to create a new profile for the switch offer a while back and it's all fudged since then.
The 20 x card payments for the reward are easy enough to approve in the app (if an online transaction), and for the newer account I get an SMS code instead. Their IT systems seem a bit of a mess to put it mildly.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/79771882/#Comment_79771882As above, I needed to contact TSB, as the new accounts merged to the old profile, but not the debit cards. How about if you contact TBS support again and tell them a colleague of yours had similar issue and they (TSB support) investigated and found a minor mismatch on details between old and new profiles. Maybe it will give them some clues to work with.
Turns out there was a minor mismatch on details between old and new profiles.
Once they resolved this, the profiles merged successfully. Be aware though this takes upto 10 days, and for a day or two some details are in limbo in the app/online banking (e.g. new profile stopped working, before debit card moved to old profile).
I've only contacted TSB support once for another matter, the support agent told me what the problem was immediately (after checking). I was trying to use my debit card online and it was being declined. Support agent checked and said I was inputting the expiry date incorrectly. Actually I was. I double checked and input the correct expiry and it worked.
BTW, in addition to showing a different set of card info and inbox, are you able to order a new PIN code for example (or may be order the PIn for a different card - not the card specific to the account logged into)? I tried this once and an error came up 'unknown error' or such like.
Manage cards / PIN is the same details for both accounts which is obviously incorrect. I've made my peace with having broken TSB accounts, and will just let them wither away and become dormant, ready for switching fodder once the rewards stop.
BTW, probably defending the indefensible here, but what would you say if someone says 'well, those issues about showing the same details for both accounts is trivial, as we would probably be able to manage cards by contacting TSB support via chat or phone. Wheareas, the problems TSB used to have were much grave and these current problems are an improvement to how things were'.
How would you respond?
I keep receiving emails to say I have new correspondence, but what good is that if I cannot see them.0 -
After upgrading my classic TSB account to the free Spend & Save one I only got five £5 before they stopped. Perhaps the first month was too short to count? I did do 6 months of either 30 or later 20 Debit card transactions. But last months has not resulted in £5!0

All the posts I've seen talked about applying for new account. I guess, we can now safely say it applies to converted accounts too.
In fairness to TSB they do state on the website or the terms (somewhere obvious this time round) that the month we apply counts too. I guess that's a round about way of saying apply earlier in the month/ don't apply later in the month because you may receive card towards end of month, which means you may carry out transactions at the end of the month, thereby risking transactions appearing in the following month.
