Suppose you have been having problems logging on to MCOL. In that case, especially if you keep getting redirected back to the same but wrong page after using the government gateway site, you should try closing any windows or tabs for those sites.

Next, go to your browser's settings/preferences and find the privacy section or where you can manage website data (cookies) and find any cookies for both websites. You can usually find them quickly as there should be some way to search and if you just enter the first few characters of the URL domain name, they should show up. You should then delete those cookies.

Next, preferably, quit and relaunch your browser and go through the process you were supposed to follow to register your government gateway and MCOL identities. Hopefully, this will have cleared the problem.

You should have at least two different browsers available so that you can compare the results. Usually, one browser will have a corrupted cookie but the other doesn't. It will work with one browser but not the other is a sure sign of a corrupted cookie.

@B789 thank you so much for typing that all out. I did try all of that and tried it on two different laptops using different browsers. Nothing was working so I'm not sure if it was just a glitch. I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can log in once I submit my defence through e-mail.

If you still cannot access MCOL you should receive an automated response from CCBC when you submit your defence by email. Keep a copy for future reference if there is any delay or problem with them processing your defence. I think it can be some days / weeks before they update MCOL anyway.

I have just posted this on another UKPC / DCBL thread ......

It has been clear for a long time that DCBL TAKE ON TOTAL RUBBISH cases from UKPC which means either they get a spanking in court or they chicken out and discontinue at the last minute .... the latter is very popular with DCBL,

The first SCARY attempt is a court claim. They do not want to go to court because when they lose, you can claim your costs
BUT for a filing fee of £25/£35, if they can get you to pay before court, they still profit.

It is mug hunting, you are not a mug.
YOU NEVER PAY DCBL unless a judge orders it. Doubtful, because DCBL just love to discontinue before court.

So, you continue as instructed here.
You will receive letters from DCBL ...

1: Our client wishes to continue ... mug letter
2: Our client wants to offer a deal ... mug letter
3: Our client instructs us to discontinue ..END

To be honest it's like dealing with play school so enjoy the game,

There are two major problems for DCBL, first is the unreadable signs from UKPC and secondly the DCBL CLAIM signed by Yasmin Mia as a statement of truth ?   No doubt the claim includes DAMAGES .... WHAT RUBBISH

It is also clear that Yasmin Mia could be sent to prison for contempt of court

Hope this helps you with this scam

@patient_dre you nailed it. I feel so much better after finding this forum and having the support, examples and anecdotes. I'll be submitting my defence tomorrow and then will wait for the inevitable next steps. I am now confident that it will, as you say, be discontinued.

    UPDATE

I've received an e-mail from DCBL, from (Removed by Forum Team), saying,

Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim. In due course, the Court will direct both parties to each file a directions questionnaire. In preparation for that, please find attached a copy of the Claimant's, which we confirm has been filed with the Court.Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence. If you have provided an email address within your Defence, we intend to use it for service of documents (usually in PDF format) hereon in pursuant to PD 6A (4.1)(2)(c). Please advise whether there are any limitations to this (for example, the format in which documents are to be sent and the maximum size of attachments that may be received). Unless you advise otherwise, we will assume not.A little confusing that they say the court will direct us both to file a DQ but then says the Claimant has already filed it. The N180 they attached has A1 and C1 ticked 'Yes'. D1 is ticked 'No' and they have written "There are factual disputes that will need to be heard by the judge directly and the Claimant will need the opportunity to cross examine the Defendant and test any evidence put forward by the Defendant. There are also complex issues of fact and law that will be best argued orally." E1 they have written "Claimant's home court. The Claimant requests that all hearings in this matter take place remotely (CVP/telephone). This is the most proportionate option given the low value of the claim." and for E2 ticked 'No' with one witness indicated on the form. I am not responding and will patiently wait for my DQ to come through. Should I be starting on my witness statement now or wait a bit?

You were expecting that, weren't you?
Item 7 on that checklist you were following states...

There is nothing stopping you starting your Witness Statement now - while you still remember the detail. Also worth gathering evidence now - for example, pictures of signs before they are changed and the images you want are no longer available.
