Atom Banks tax certificate

Hi all, first time customer with Atom, so not familiar with their modus operandi. Tax year's finished and I will need to declare my interest income from savings accounts with them. Other banks have already issued me their tax year end certificate, only Atom seems to be slow. Contacted them mid April and they said the documents would get issued shortly. Nothing in their vault.

How long does it typically take them? Or should I specifically request one? Their FAQ makes no mention of it but a blog entry if I recall correctly said, they would automatically issue them.

For back-up, I have my monthly statements which I could be using instead. If so, what about the 6 days in April (my statement date is last business day of month) from March-end to tax year end? Interest will have accrued but not paid yet. I presume that would count towards May 2023 falling therefore into tax year 2023/24. Not 100% sure how this gets treated: for savings accounts that pay interest at maturity, that's straight forward, I started some last tax year and they will count towards 23/24, but Atom pays me monthly.

Thanks in advance!

IIRC, I was told via Atom's online chat a few weeks ago that I should receive my summary by 5th May (I'd actually written down 5th April but I'm presuming that was a typo !)

April's Interest payment would only be included in your 2022-23 tax calculations if it was paid to you between 1st and 5th April so if it was and you don't have a statement that covers that period yet, then just look back through your account history.

You don't need a certifcate to complete your SA, just add up the interest paid during the tax year. Atom sends the data direct to HMRC and the chances that HMRC will ask for any documentary evidence is close to zero.

If it hasn't been paid ('arisen') in the tax year then it doesn't count so anything accrued between your March interest payment and 05/04 will count towards your income in the next tax year when it's paid later in April.

Atom are extremely slow with everything. Still not received mine but emptied my account because of such low rates.
