It's going to make SFA difference to the value of your property.  To increase the value over and above regular HPI you need to increase the size e.g. add an extension or make the unmortgageable mortgageable.
But how much will the SFA change, i.e. will the change in terms of the SFA be higher than the cost of material + labor?

Will i be able to DIY this project? If not how much are the fitting costs?
My understanding of ‘SFA’ is different from yours
I thought the same, google gives several but none I can attribute to property renovation

    • If you fit the flooring and it looks poorly done - any potential buyer could offer lower due to replacement flooring required
    • If you pay for it to be professionally fitted - any potential buyer could offer lower due to replacement flooring required as it’s not to their taste
Improve your home for marketing and listing but prepare that anything you spend may not be recovered if offers are made. Spend sensibly.

I am planning to do some small renovations to increase the value of the property:
I am planning to do the following:
    1) I am planning to install a new oak engineered flooring as I have realized that there is a big difference in terms of pricing, with some lower end range cost approx. around 30 GBP per square meter and higher end around 60 GBP+. I have a house of approx. 75 sqm sqm excluding bathroom.
    My first question:
Can I do a tongue and groove flooring job DIY or I have to seek for a professional fitter? If I seek for a professional fitter, how much is he going to charge me, provided that the flooring is already oiled?
Do you think that this investment would be worth it and do you think that this will have a positive impact on the valuation of the property? Can you Please advice?
What are the advantages of putting solid oak engineered flooring?

You do not appear to know what SFA stands for   ( Sweet Fanny Adams   - which means none)

I think you will find that "Sweet Fanny Adams" is a euphemism for the definition by @YoungBlueEyes.

If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

If you were looking at marketability then I would go for the kerb appeal   -   well maintained garden and access, outside decoration , roof in good condition -  inside, general decoration, nothing broken... Cost SFA !
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • It could make a difference if what you are replacing is a reason to put buyers off but adding value not sure it might just get more people in the door for a viewing and attract more offers (might). If you were updating something not touched in decades etc.

On this board a lot of people seem to be of the opinion that what potential purchases see with their eyes does not affect values. Unless we are so detracted from our American cousins where the practice of house staging can lead to higher than expected prices for sellers then there probably is something in this practice. What the eyes see the mind wants etc.

Having read the thread the TLA (three letter acronym) used was crass and unfriendly.
