I could do without everything else then!

Lunch breaks are not a perk !!!
Employers should pay for eye tests if you used a pc
and i am an employer .............we do tell our employees pay is a bonus lol ( joking )0 -
Lesley, you must admit though being an employer that to get the best out of your staff you have to be fair and offer a few incentives?
I'm trying to be grateful for anything right now so a lunch break is a perk to me! :rotfl:0 -

Incentives are just one part of a jigsaw that motivates people, once the perks of the job become the norm then everything falls back on good management and appropriately challenging work I think.0 -

Spot on - there is DSE legislation that covers the eye tests.
And if you are using a PC at home, it still needs to comply with the relevant legislation, so that you don't end up with back problems and then try and sue your employer.
Sorry - seriously dragging this off topic now.We all evolve - get on with it0 -
I work in a small non-profit organisation and the perks are much less than in larger organisations but I am much happier becuase they know how to say "thank you"!!
Mycurrent perks are:

Able to work from home (not as a regular thing but in emergencies its possible to do this)
Tea/Coffee

Paid MS- £5+ £10 GR, £5 RE, £15 MS
£65 ebay profit

no annual pay increase (rate of inflation or not), no sick pay (as of 2008) etc etc.
Just wondered what others thought![/quote]
No cost-of-living rise:eek: - since when was that a perk? Necessary yes/"god-given right" in my book yes - perk; NO WAY.
No sick pay - What - at all?! Crikey.
The two words "Get rid" come to mind - as in get rid of that employer pdq (sounds like a good New Year Resolution in fact - note to self "must ditch Scrooge employer and find a better one")0 -
I'd ditto that aswell. Make it an aim to find a better employer0

I wonder why???
Seriously - get those walking boots on!
Whatever type of job is this? Confused now - as you state working from home would be possible - when I had already thought "this must be a cleaner or shop assistant job" - but cleaners and shop assistants cant work from home. Whatever type of firm is this Scrooge employer?0 -
Best perk at work for me is free flights*!
*excluding taxes0
