Our best perk is flexitime - its been a godsend to me since my daughter started school.

Our leave is pretty good too 30 days a year plus 10.5 public/privelage days and up to 3 flexi days a month.

Pay rises are appalling though. x

    We have a reasonable deal

free tea and coffee, I also get squash in during the summer
    annual christmas bonus
    flexi time (well for me!)
75% discount of goods (if you really want some)
annual increment and I have known 6 monthly small reward
holidays are 18 standard per year up, I'm on 22 and the Manager is on 25

Because at my last job (less than 12 employees) we weren't entitled to a lunch break (to be fair they brought sarnies in for us) but they didn't have to give us any break. Apparantly they now have more than 12 employees so give them 1.2 hour but have extended the day til 6pm!

Are you suggesting that entitlement to a break is dependant on the number of employees?

No cost-of-living rise:eek: - since when was that a perk? Necessary yes/"god-given right" in my book yes - perk; NO WAY.

No sick pay - What - at all?! Crikey.

The two words "Get rid" come to mind - as in get rid of that employer pdq (sounds like a good New Year Resolution in fact - note to self "must ditch Scrooge employer and find a better one")

Well this is what has started it all off. I've 'temped' in various departments for a year, and come to thinking about it today I'm wondering if I really should stay!

Thats what we were told at the time - this is going back a few years but I didn't stay there long either because of a bully of a boss.

Whatever type of job is this? Confused now - as you state working from home would be possible - when I had already thought "this must be a cleaner or shop assistant job" - but cleaners and shop assistants cant work from home. Whatever type of firm is this Scrooge employer?[/quote]

I don't want to say the type of business in case I get spotted on here by another employee, but my personal position is PA which includes all HR/ISO.

I think I'd be having a quiet word in the Director's ear, in that case!

There's been research done which I think shows that a payrise has very little to do with keeping staff: the 'nice touches' however have a LOT to do with it.

I work in the friendliest office, yes we all moan a bit sometimes but we are well looked after, we feel we matter to the managers and to our Trustees. I wouldn't stay long if I didn't feel I mattered. Me personally, not just my work.

  • I heard that PWC doesn't do company pensions for 5 years.. but they certainly do get other perks
