Thats the same as what I do and I (well all the staff, there's 12 of us) get:
Free tea/coffee/hot chocolate inc milk
Generous annual pay increase
Christmas bonus
Christmas party including our partners, all food and drink paid for
20 days holiday on top of bank holidays plus one extra each year
Paid days off from day before xmas eve to 2nd January as we close down
5 days company sick pay before SSP
Personal use of the internet (yes this is a perk, not a right!)
There must be more but I probably think of them as 'normal' now.
We also get lots of thanks when a particularly good effort is made on getting something done, which does a lot for morale.0 -

Recently my section manager has been moved sideways (and down a little) during an organisational re-shuffle and has been moved out of a people management role (it is widely known that my manager is useless).
So, under the previous managers reign there was no thanks, the best ideas from the team were often 'stolen' and the section manager taking the credit etc, all this has lead to bitterness. Anyway, as of 01/01/2008 a new section manager will be in place who actually cares for the team and allows all to have credit, and she will encourage and say thanks... that means so much, it makes the day-to-day really good. It is so simple to appreciate people, so why don't all managers recognise this.0 -
Thats the same as what I do and I (well all the staff, there's 12 of us) there's 100+ of us get:
Free tea/coffee/hot chocolate inc milk only if we can find some
Generous annual pay increase not automatic or regular

Christmas party including our partners, all food and drink paid for not even just fopr ourselves!
20 days holiday on top of bank holidays plus one extra each year we get 20 but one extra a year after 5 years service
Paid days off from day before xmas eve to 2nd January as we close down nope you have to save your holiday if you want this off
5 days company sick pay before SSP no sick pay at all
Personal use of the internet (yes this is a perk, not a right!) not on your nelly (though unofficially we all do)

I'm even more depressed discussing it that I was just trying to find something that we did have!!:rotfl:0 -
My perks are (not exhaustive)...
Free private healthcare
Flexitime
Buying & selling of holidays
Tuition fees, books and exam fees for my ACCA qualification all paid for
Yearly payrise
Payrise with exam I pass
Christmas Party
Free xmas ball at a fancy hotel
Free umbrella (my fav perk)
And I am slightly unhappy with my job at the moment.
There are loads of other perks, but you have to pay for them, you just get them discounted that's all. Like cheap city centre parking and that."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
Skink-chick - no SSP? Why ?
Paid for xmas party meal with some drinks including partners.
Take-aways paid for by the boss if working late consistantly
Odd bacon sandwich on a Friday
Use of internet/telephone during break times or before/after work.
Use of photocopier/printing facilities during lunch if you dont 'take the !!!!'
Annual salary review, although a raise isnt guarenteed.
Willing to pay for work relevant training if you are willing to do the work outside working hours. CiPD etc.
Not bad... not the best, but considering my hours are perfect i'm not complaining."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

We get SSP as this comes from the State not your employer (IIRC). Just no sick pay until this kicks in (after 5 days?)0 -

Skint, are you not in a position to whisper in your director's ear that just a few things would make a BIG difference?
For example, the tea and coffee: I know that this is technically taxable, so in our accounts it goes down as 'General Hospitality and Welfare'. Also in there is the odd staff lunch if our morale needs boosting, and flowers for staff or volunteers from time to time (either for special occasions or if they need cheering up!)
When we run out of teabags or coffee we go and buy some and get the money back from petty cash. It's not rocket science! At the last place I worked, where there 50+ staff, we had milk delivered each day, but again if we ran out someone would nip out for some more and get it back from Petty Cash.
But then, in my present job, everyone KNOWS that the office runs on tea, and that if anyone needs my help they'll get it faster if they make me a cuppa before they ask for it! :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
The Director is aware of the 60% staff turnover we had last year and recently have had feedback from the staff team building day that was held, but doesn't seem to want to do anything about it. If he asks I will tell him, but I'm not really in such a position yet. Although I've been with the company a year, and have worked for him before I've only been back a week. Oh, and he's given me two other full time departmental jobs to go with the one I've already got - I've no idea how I'm going to tackle it all!0
