Shawbrook bank - nominated account

    I bank transferred it.. They were happy enough to take the money and now they tell me they won't return it even if I don't verify the account. So now I have to hope they are able to verify my account or else my money is trapped because they will only return it to the verified account it was paid from 🤦‍♀️ I don't think they should be accepting money from unverified accounts, the letter said as much but everyone at the bank seems perplexed that the money was able to put into my account without it being verified.

    Yes, I did that and it isn't. It's been hours and now was forced to go and get a bank statement and send that off. They will apparently accept money from the account even though it isn't verified but won't return it now unless I can verify said account 🤦‍♀️

    Something has gone wrong. I have a Natwest account as my nominated account and haven't had any problems (and I don't remember having to send them statements, or verify my account via Open Banking either). 

    Is your Natwest account a current account (not a Savings account) and is it in joint names or a different name to the Shawbrook account?

    I will admit I would struggle to supply the documents you listed in the first post. I've got a chequebook somewhere but haven't used it for years. And all of my statements are PDFs downloaded. The last time I got a paper bank statement was when I closed an old account and they sent the final statement by post. 

    Hope you get it sorted.

    Thank you.. Yeah it's really frustrating and I have a few savings accounts with the same account as my nominated and there have never been any problems. 
    Lady on the phone says I'll have to wait until end of next week to get a follow up on this now which is ridiculous tbh. If the bank statement isn't enough I'll have to jump through additional hoops 😡

    Thanks. Definitely going to formal complaint esp if they make me jump through anymore hoops. 
    They tell me I probably won't get a response to this until end of next week as "they are busy".
