    That's what you think ;)

It installed software to route all your calls through GCHQ where they have advanced AI listening for key words that then record the call and flag you as a "Person of interest". It also installed a way of tracking where you are whenever the 'phone is switched on.

Oh wait- they've been doing this for years already :)

Well if the tracking is based on anything like Google or another I found - it's possible to give it a false profile

Ah, but how do we know that isn't a double bluff and you really are 80 year old Ahmed?

Seriously, "They" already know where your phone is by simply checking which cell tower you are logged onto.

Dare say they can triangulate with relative signal strength of adjacent towers too. Hardly metre accuracy though, for that "They'd" have get your phone's gps to send its position as part of the header for authenication/login. Probably already happening.

(If "They" are not monitoring calls, emails, sms messages and keeping location records as a matter of course, what are they spending all those gazillions of security budget on?)

The alert can't track you (some people need counselling for their levels of paranoia). It wasn't sent out to individual phones and I don't suppose they (whoever they are) care about the mundane lives of the vast majority...

    It was a joke.

"They" are already more than capable of tracking you if they are interested in you, and have been for many years.

Have none of you people watched a single police/MI5 drama off the telly in the last 10 years?

Why do you think the bad guys are forever snapping phones in half and flushing SIM cards away?

Why do you think most of the best new dramas and films are set more than twenty years ago?
