Preferring a bath shower instead of separates

We are taking the bath out and having a walk in shower fitted ,as a couple of a certain age we find getting in and out of the bath hard, also we like to go on holiday about 4 or 5 times a year and nearly every where we have stayed has walk in showers and they are so much easier and quicker for us.1

I'm amazed at how many people want to remove baths for walk in showers! We already have one but we nearly didn't buy our house because there was no bath in the bathroom. We knew it was something we could change though and we are doing that now.
I do love our walk in shower but I also love a bath. For me it solves a lot of problems! Plus we are planning to start a family in what is considered a family size house so a bath is a must. My husband also has psoriatic arthritis and although he grumbles at how much this new bathroom is going to cost, I know he'll enjoy the benefit of a relaxing bath!1 -
You can't soak for half an hour reading or using your phone in the shower !0

Different set ups suit different family circumstances. A bath is probably essential if you have young children, but for us oldies, can present problems climbing in & out.I’m currently resisting the nagging from OH who wants to remove bath from our main bathroom & install a large walk in shower. Been here just over 2 years & I think I’ve had 3 baths in that time, but oh how I enjoy the long soak with scented candles & probably a glass of wine😊.We also have 2 (small) shower cubicles in en-suites & there’s a hand held mixer shower in the middle of the bath. Plenty to cope with guests so I’m digging my heels in😇2

Baths with showers above are also great if you have dogs, particularly those who like rolling in strange stuff they find out on walks ( like fox poo! )0

We could have fitted a corner shower in our main bathroom when refurbishing but chose to fit a 800mm wide bath instead with a decent sized overbath shower. Whilst you still have to step over the bath rim it at least gives you the option of both. Personally I thinkk the P or L shaped baths some people install are unnecessary and will date very quickly.0

And who cares about house prices, I bought my house to live in not to see how much I can get back in the future.1 -
I’ve got two bathrooms (posh😂) and have nice big walk in showers in both and no bath. Horses for courses, but if I ever sold my house and felt that the lack of a bath was preventing a sale, I’d put a bath in one or negotiate on the price, but while I’m living in my home I’ll have how I want it, not how any possible future inhabitants might want it😁1

Yes because if people buy it they can have what they want and i doubt it would put anybody off if they really wanted your house ,when people buy property they often change the decor to suite their taste.

True.
People do change things as soon as buying a house.0
