Preferring a bath shower instead of separates

We are in the process of renovating our bathroom to include a large bath with overhead shower. We currently just have a huge walk in shower which is nice and I will miss when its gone but I need a bath for relaxing in! I wanted a free standing bath with hand shower but hubby wouldn't let me as he likes a shower in the mornings. Our bathroom is tiny (less than 5m2) but if it was big enough I'd opt for separates but after reading the comments, I'm sort of put off shower cubicles and agree they can be pokey!0

I've been attacked by enough shower curtains to know that I never want to have one again! Glass panel above the bath if necessary, but separate shower cubicle if space permits. Wouldn't want to lose a bath completely, although it's been years since I took a bath.

Apart from when the Grandkids come, our bath in the bathroom has only been used once since we moved here 13 years ago. We use the large shower cubicle in the ensuite or occasionally the shower cubicle in the bathroom. We find that having a water softener together with self/easy clean glass virtually eliminates water marks.1

I have a walk in shower which covers the same foot print as a bath. One permanent fixed glass shower screen at the side.
Shower cubicles are so last century.1 -

(Also, I don't care if anyone thinks removing the bath will put off future buyers. This is planned to be our forever home and even if it isn't, we'll cross the bridge of getting a bath put back in if and when we sell, if we get feedback that it's an issue. I'm not going to let that prevent me from having the bathroom shower room that I want while I am living there!)2 -

In a way I'd like to remove it, move the wall and make one of the bedrooms bigger!Edit: I tell a lie, one of my kids got blood on their bed sheets and I hand washed it in the bath!1

The people who get rid of the bath with shower over and get a walk in bath never think they will need a to use a bath again, because they can always can always use the bath instead of the shower when they visit friends and relatives. I still have a bath with shower over, you might have guessed!

I'm 45 and have never wanted to take a bath where a shower was an option so I don't think that's going to change (especially not now with the cost of energy and the fact that I've just got a water meter!) I lived in my last house for 14 years and used the bath for exactly one week of that, when the shower was broken.
If I become disabled or infirm I'll get seating fitted in the shower. I prefer the feeling of clean water running over me rather than sitting in dirty water and I can't see me changing how I feel about that. Also I have joint pain and find a nice blast of a hot shower better for aches and pains than sitting in the bath but obviously everyone is different. That's why I want my bathroom how I like it!0 -

I think a bath with a shower is more versatile than just a shower, especially with young kids.
But really, it's personal choice at the end of the day.£2699 credit card (£3848 01.02.23)
