Many policies that come with bank accounts won't cover pre-existing conditions.

Also check for cruise cover - it is included in our policy.
Are you sure, it isn't mentioned in the policy terms linked from that Co-op page?

It was included when I called up the insurance firm a few months ago.
Do you mean that it was included as standard or that you bought a cruise add-on?  Either way, those terms make no reference to it being included currently, so anyone looking to get cruise cover would need to obtain written confirmation over and above the standard policy terms....
Included with the policy which we've had for a few years, pre Covid.
    Confirmed by a 'phone call.
Obviously any potential new customer would want to have that confirmed likewise.

Depends on what the pre-existing conditions are - there are various conditions which don't require any additional surcharge.
All travel cover requires the applicant to disclose medical issues.

So have they actually clarified exactly what cruise-specific cover they're providing you with, in writing?  I can't understand why they wouldn't include reference to it in their published terms if it's bundled within the price, when their competitors are pricing it as an add-on, so personally I'd be very wary if it was simply stated verbally!

Never done analysis on it but all the bank account ones I've had you could declare pre-existing conditions and they'd consider it on a case by case basis. Only the insurance associated to a credit card we have was a blanket no pre-existing cover

The insurance which comes with Nationwide FlexPlus specifically provides medical cover for cruises.

An extract from my most recent confirmation of cover:

    Cruise
This policy will provide cover for emergency medical and repatriation costs up to £10,000,000 when you are travelling on a cruise including UK cruises. The cruise duration must be a minimum of 2 nights for cover to apply.
You must ensure you meet all the conditions of carriage for your cruise provider.

There is an optional extension which can be purchased to cover missed departure, cabin confinement, change of schedule, etc.

But you can often pay extra to have the account insurance upgraded to cover pre-existing conditions.

Parent used to do that until she hit their upper age limit.
